Serse, your post got me thinking about using light fixtures for planters, so today I found myself at goodwill, and got these "planters" there are 3 matching (only 2 in photo) I like the shape and color

Oh my. That was what I was trying to find the other day. They had nothing like that. Seattle area has great items in their Goodwill stores.
Here in Dallas, OR, not so much.

Serse, probably not...it is one of the ones that I got last week, they're waiting for transplanting - or trading

They will probably do great on that rock, especially the smaller varieties.

My too, they make great bowl, and now I don't have to worry about figuring out how to use my dremel to make a hole in some of my pottery or glass bowls

Speaking of which have you tried that Lynn, or gotten you DH to try it? Has anyone on here?
I am wondering how "doable" drilling into bowls is???
Have several that would make great planters!

DH drills containers drain holes for me. The really hard type of porcelain is the most difficult. keeping water on the area helps.

Hmm, guess I need to learn more, I'll ask a friend of mine who's a handyman type.
