Anyone who grows roses will at one time or another run into problems with disease. Even the most attentive and hard-core rose enthusiast will encounter this problem because, as we all know, we can't control the weather. The majority of rose diseases that we'll discuss here are weather related. Knowing how to identify and understand the causes of these diseases will make your rose growing endeavors easier and more enjoyable, and your roses will be happier in the long run.

Very helpful, easy to follow instructions on handling rose diseases.
I have one rose that I could never clear up the black spot. I think it is the old variety of 'Paul's Scarlet Climber'. The blooms are beautiful, but the canes were leafless because of blackspot.
We finally planted an Akebi next to it to hide the ugly bare canes. Once the two vines mingled the blackspot disappeared.

I wonder if it because the akebia vine keeps the soil born disease from reaching the rose leaves?

Hello, I joined recently. I have a question, my roses got infected with black spot, I've been dealing with this problem for almost a month, I first applied Infuse systemic disease control to see if that would help with the problem, waited for a week but didn't see any results, then I applied Rose RX 3 in 1 concentrate then waited another week and the roses are still in the same condition. Is there a fungicide anyone can recommend to deal with this problem? Thanks in advance.
