Sometimes it is easy to find out where NOT to buy from, but not as easy to find see where all of the great gardeners buy there plants. As it turns out, we have a whole area of the site dedicated to passing along our positive experiences with other gardeners. Green Grin!

Today through Saturday at 5pm, I am giving away 5 acorns per recommendation that you write in our recommendations feature. http://garden.org/reviews/ Everyone has time to participate!

There are lots of reviews here in the forums, and I will be asking to move all of those next week. Instead of just doing them, I'm giving you the opportunity to earn acorns Thumbs up Trust me, you are going to want acorns for the raffles this year!!

I'm wondering why I bought plants from "High Country Gardens" when the charge on my credit card is from American Meadows. They were originally Wesley Gardens. Then they changed their name to "American Meadows" Yikes, I put a large order in to Wesley Gardens a few years ago and received a bunch of mushy, broken, rotten plants so I stayed away from American Meadows. Is High Country Gardens the same operation all over again!!!

I think High Cuntry gardens has been around awhile. The only critisims I have heard is that they charge your credit card right away instead of when they ship. I think the plants are all right.

There are several on line plant websites that charge your card right away. When I buy the special items each month from Bluestone, they charge for the purchase and not the shipping. When they finally ship at the right planting date, all the shipping charges are combined, which I think is GREAT!

Teri,

I didn't know that about Bluestone and the shipping part. Thanks! I tip my hat to you.

BTW, do you take the plants out of the coir pots before planting them, like Susan (Virginia Rose) does? What if the roots are growing into the coir pot? I've been wondering that.

I don't plant in the coir pots. Sometimes I soak the pot and plant a water bath and try to loosen and trim the pot from the roots. I always add a little worm castings to the hole before I put the plant into the ground to give the roots strength without burning them especially if the roots are really bare from the process.

The acorns will be awarded after the time is up, since it is a manual process.

5 PM Central is the deadline!

Thanks for the Acorn, Trish. I'm not sure if I should be saving it for something or making a purchase for a badge. Can some one fill me in?

There was such a large payment of acorns yesterday that the squirrels are worried about a famine in squirrel land.
This guy won't come off of his stash. I think he heard about the raffles coming up and is wondering if he should hide them in a safer place.
