Tamerlan is close, but the beards are darker, and there is some yellow in the haft, that is different then mine. Mine has a very light yellow beard. I don't remember any pbf, and not sure of the height, but they are on the taller side.

yeah, I knew it wasn't dead on! Just close! I'm a long, long, way from being even FAIR at I.D .ing iris! There are a LOT of possibilities out there! And even when you think you "got it", until you grow it alongside a known iris, you're not sure. I have several NOIDs that have similar color combo's to yours, Tom, and the "form" of each is slightly different. From the width of the falls on yours, my first impression is that it's a slightly newer iris, maybe 1940's. But, it may be the i.pallida in it's family tree, as they appear wider in the falls, than most others. You should join HIPS! Lot's of info, and lot's of folk's who DO know how to I.D.....Arlyn

Gee! So that's what an iris looks like when it's green! Hah, I'd forgotten!! I'd take another picture but it would look the same as the last one, still snow covered( it has melted a lot, tho.) One bed of "waifs & strays is bare, and looking better than I thought, as I was expecting a lot of them would be heaved out of the ground, but they are still "stuck to the ground! Now if they just grow!...Arlyn Sticking tongue out

Nice, Paul
I cut mine back last fall but the tops of several look bad. I guess I will cut the brown off and hope they start showing a lot of new growth.

Mine are greening up and showing nice increase.Today I edged the grass around two of the beds........might be room for a few more medians. I've done the easy beds and have 2 large iris beds left that need a lot of attention. My grandson Cade comes and helps on Weds and I hope to get most of the leaves and acorns out of my Hosta. Then I have 80 roses that will need pruning in a couple of weeks. We had a very cold winter and it looks like I have quite a bit of winter kill in the roses. I'd better not complain....this is what I have been anticipating.........

Just one more of this bed. I was hoping the bulbs would be different colors and was a little disappointed to find they are all the same--until today. Smiling They look beautiful.

More melt today even when it was in the 30s. We will see beds with I. pumila before we see siberian irises. How are your beds doing, Polly?

Not a clue, Lucy, LOL. Can't get anywhere near them. Although I see an iris I forgot to plant from the iris sale sitting in a bag at the end of the house all sprouted nicely.

This is the iris bed on the west side of my house yesterday. Glad I have things well mulched, we are supposed to be in the single digits this week. I am not even peaking under those leaves. sorry it's sideways....

This is my daffodil and daylily bed. That is about 3 feet of snowdrift sitting on top. My other beds have from a couple of inches of snow to a foot of snow/ice/snow/ice....

Geez, spring refuses to come around here this year. It is cold feeling and chilly out. My iris have not even begune to grow their spring leaves and are sorry looking winter time things still.

I do have just a very few species crocus just about ready to open their blooms but they have been ready to open those blooms since last week. Every day I look at them and they look the same. We need some nice sunny days but instead they said snow for overnight. Enough already, I want spring.
