Never too late for birthday wishes, but adtually it's only 9:30 on this coast right now, so there's plenty of time. I'm eating the best cookie I've eaten in the last 30 years. It's a huge almond macaroon -- almond, not coconut -- with a chocolate glaze and slivered almonds on top. I used to eat these all the time in San Francisco, but I've never seen them in Sonoma County. One of my neighbors left it by my door this morning with a birthday card. I'll have to ask her where she bought it.
I hope you had a grand birthday, Zuzu, and I'm sorry that I'm so late with this birthday wish. I know that you also really like the PCI irises, so here's a link to the Monterey Bay Iris Society's February newsletter. And near the end is a picture of the new Ghio PCI introduction WILDER RANCH -- just for you -- absolutely gorgeous, eh?
Thank you, Gloria and Betty. You're not really late because I'm celebrating my birthday today with friends who work during the week. Jambalaya for dinner. Yum!
Wilder Ranch is absolutely gorgeous! My favorite blend of mauve and beige, with some yellow and white thrown in for good measure.

I won't say bleh 'cuz I've never had fried gator feet. But I used to eat the living snot outta crab cakes when I was a little bitty one when we went to Florida one year (.. '81? '80?). Never had the Mardi Gras Cake, though. And Green Fried Tomatoes are NOM!! Haven't had those in a 1000 1000 years.
