Gigi....did you say the plant was--12--feet...tall? And its considered a miniature? ?? How can that possibly be a miniature plant? Or is it the blossom size that's miniature?

Crying Crying Crying Crying Sad day yesterday. Someone broke a huge section out of the pink flamingo and other plumerias. Sad Ive had a few clippings taken before but this was 1/3 of the tree right out of the middle. We dug it up and are moving it away from the street.

I am very sorry to hear that Robert. Having been a victim of a major plant theft myself, I know how horrible it feels....

That's horrible Robert, I'm so sorry it happened to you. What creeps! How can someone who loves plants enough to steal them, do this kind of damage and hurt to another plant lover? I don't understand it.

Jonna has it right....completely senseless. I'm sorry some so -and -so did this to you, and Hetty, too, it seems. It's a shame one cannot surround themself with beauty, without attracting low life scavengers.
Moving the plants is almost like letting them win....I suppose a horse-sized Rottweiler and video setup are out of the question?

I wasn't happy about moving it but I was told it was like putting the cookie jar on top of the fridge to keep sticky fingers out of it. Smiling

Makes me question the wisdom of putting stuff on the internet. But I enjoy looking at pictures and sharing the love and excitement of everyone into plants.

Yeah I got a little internet-shy too right after it happened to me, but I decided I didn't want to live like that.

I'm so sorry to hear that Robert. I hope no one will do that to my growing collection most I have not seen the blooms yet. I just get upset that they will steal and not ask or buy a cutting from you. Thumbs down

I'm planting some roses, plumeria, bougainvillea and crown of thorns and planting them infront my plummies. This way, whoever wants to cut a branch will be cut by my sharp plants.

I am so sorry to hear that, and as the others have said, I can't process this info. I don't think there is a normal reason to do that! [hugs]

I also don't think the internet has to do anything with it, most of us do not post personal info on the internet. I think (but only my opinion) that usually are people from the neighborhood or simple strangers that pass by.
Again, I'm so very sorry!

I was thinking if my first bloom of my plumie wasn't in fact the victim of an attempted robbery but the person couldn't really grabher well and dropped it. Thumbs down I mean, only 2 days on the inflo and then fell??? Sad
If at first you don't succeed, call it version 1.0
Keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you've been up to.

This is another first bloom but This is mislabeled as mini-white but the bloom is no doubt a Divine

This is another miniature, which is Thumbelina:

Yes all three Jungle Jack miniature plumerias are prolific bloomers but the Divine, in my opinion is the most fragrant. I love the Dwarf Pink Singapore too. I especially love the fact that I don't have to climb a ladder to enjoy the blooms.

I'm running out of space so I'm going mini or dwarf.

Here are some of my first blooms. I stupidly knocked to bud off of Jeanie Moragne yesterday, while I was cleaning up the back deck. It was broken off closed, but once it was put in water, it opened beautifully.

Riviera Rainbow, thanks to Hetty, from last year. One of the 2 potted cuttings is now blooming

My cuttings that I bought while I was in Maui got a conference on February, finally got potted up today.

Jeanie Moragne, and luckily the plant has more buds.

I tip my hat to you. The rest of the plumies are leafing out nicely. It was a cooler spring this year, and didn't start staying above 50 degrees at night until late May, early June.

Cuttings from the 2011 co-op are in desperate need if repotting.

The plant on the left is one I grew from a cutting from Maui in 2001. It's either Celadine, or Samoan Fluff, the middle plant is Yellow Jack, and the plant on the right Jeanie Moragne, all grown from cuttings over the last few years.

Wow that cutting looks all shriveled but yet it has a huge inflorescence starting!!

By the way this variety is 'Madame Gallibert' (abbreviated MmeG) and is an intensely fragrant white.

That Daisy Wilcox looks SERIOUSLY weird Blinking

I know, right!!!! I think it twisted, because I tend to turn the plants that like to lean towards the sun around so that the growth will be more linear. It's an interesting specimen Big Grin

I'm looking forward to also seeing Madme G blooms, and get a whiff of the fragrance. I love growing these plants for the blooms and their delicious scent.
