Staying Hydrated While Working in the Gardens

Strenuous activity in extreme heat and humidity can definitely lead to serious health problems. "Remember to drink plenty of water," Mom used to say, each early morning, before my siblings and I left for high school band camp, but really, how much is enough water to stay out of the ER? 🤷

If I know that I will be out a while I start out with extra electrolytes from one of the above and use the alarm/timer settings as well. Once 1 of those electrolyte beverages is downed I continue with water to keep me hydrated and tip top Hurray!

Good idea about electrolytes! I am glad that Dana brought up the timely suggestion to stay hydrated. We can get so busy in the garden and are anxious to get something done that we tend to stay out longer than we should.
