I lost I think 100% of what I planted from her last year, but I won't blame her at all.. I just didn't take good care of them. So I put in a new order for this year.

1 Lavender Crystal http://www.helpmefind.com/gard...
1 Lavender Jewel http://www.helpmefind.com/gard...
1 Magenta Mystic http://www.helpmefind.com/gard...
2 Grey Dawn http://www.helpmefind.com/gard...
1 Smoky http://www.helpmefind.com/rose...

I'm waiting on hearing if she has Double Feature http://www.helpmefind.com/gard... & Old Port http://www.helpmefind.com/gard... in this year too! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

Shannon - You have to ask her for a list of available roses. She'll email you her spreadsheet of minis & regulars.

MINIATURE ROSES IN 5 INCH BANDS $7.50 EACH
OWN ROOT GROWN ROSES IN 5 INCH BANDS $10.95 EACH
OWN ROOT GROWN ROSES IN ONE GALLONS $17.50

She has an extensive collection, but you have to look each one up for a picture on HMF. I Lovey dubby Burling's roses, but I have to take better care of them!!

Shannon - Ooh, who did you all order from her? You'll like her stuff, she boxes them nicely, doesn't charge outrageously for shipping. Now her babies are kinda small, so you'll have to baby them a bunch, but some of my best minis came from her. The thread "Burlington Roses" in Roses forum is a thread w/pics of what you can expect.

After going back & forth, this is my official order. Yay!!

2 Grey Dawn @ 10.95 each = 21.90
2 Smoky @ 10.95 each = 21.90
1 Lavender Jewel @ 7.50
Subtotal: 51.30
Priority mail: 11.30
Total Cost: $62.60

Decided on 2 Grey Dawns & 2 Smokys as those are almost impossible to find anywhere. Lavender Jewel I can order elsewhere, so only getting one, and the other two (Lavender Crystal & Mystic Magenta) I'm getting in the fall when they're a bit more robust.

Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

I am totally confused on how to view their roses. I sent for an availability list, but was wondering if there are pictures and stat info anywhere.
I really need to know if they have fragrance.

Pam - Unfortunately she doesn't have a website that shows each individual rose. But her listing gives the type of rose (HT/G/F/S, etc like Hybrid Tea, Grandiflora, Floribunda, Shrub), color (P/R/Y/M/W with the subcategories like LP = Light Pink, DR = Deep Red), and fragrant or not. You have to actually look each one up that you're interested in, like KatieJo said, on HMF.

Thanks, she already sent the list and I shall take a look. Got my first daylily order today and I want some roses to plant behind them. Since they both take the same spraying and alot of water, I figure....why not??? The only rose I have is a Jude the Obscure and a very old tiffany. That JTO is a nightmare to prune and ever so thorny, but oh my, the fragrance is awesome, so I keep it. Im going to try to keep its rambling under control this summer, I only have so much room.

I already emailed this question to Burlington.....but I'm ridiculously impatient, so I'll ask here in case anybody knows. The pdf gives the price of both 5in bands and gallons, but the spreadsheet only says 5in band. Are all the plants available in either 5in band or gallon? I wasn't clear on that.

Hmm.. good question, I always just get the bands. You can call her, she's a very nice lady. Plus she does respond to emails pretty quick.

She responded....she says most are 5in bands....just a few in gallons and they're climbers. I really can't believe how quickly she responded.....wasn't expecting that at all!

Berling personally maintains her nursery listing on HMF. When you click the PLANTS FOR SALE, you will get a list of the roses she currently has in inventory with live links to the roses in the HMF database. Most have photos, but when you look at the list, check to the right to see if the letter "P" shows in the codes. Those rose pages do have photos.

Smiles,
Lyn

Got my roses in yesterday. Pretty happy for the most part. Kinda concerned about Grey Dawn.. no leaves!

Thumb of 2013-05-02/Skiekitty/803a8c

I don't like trying to pot them up & grow them out before planting.. I usually kill things in pots (forget to water them). I'm just going to wait until all threat of frost is gone then planting them straight away.

Planted the Lavender Jewel & 2 Smokeys on Sunday. Leaving the two Grey Dawns in their pots until they get a hair bit more robust. One of the Grey Dawn has a few leaves, but the other is completely barren of leaves. I got a note from Burling about this.. she stated that she removes yellowed / yucky leaves before shipping. But as long as the canes stay green, they should be OK.

Should I feed them a weak mixture of some kind of food to encourage growth? They got rained on last night Hurray! Hurray! and probably again today (watching storm clouds building outside my window.. my view is to the south & my house is to the southeast, so it should be raining at home). The radar shows a massive storm coming up north.. probably gonna rain for a couple of hours at least! Finally!!! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! As far as feeding, I was thinking of a weak mixture of MiracleGro or a 1:1 ratio of AgeOld Organics. Any ideas?
