I have cuttings going but will pot some of those up as well. May not be worth it as you can buy this plant at lowes for 2.98.

Here's my question. Do sedum have the same growing conditions as do semps? I'm all ears!

Marilyn, good question, (I'm guessing here, but think its right, however as some people say "I could be wrong!") I think semps with their rosette shape are more susceptible to rotting due to water, especially compared with the type of sedum that they're talking about here, which is similar to the rupestre in that they look like feathers or fir branches. I would guess that these sedums would be very carefree in pretty much any environment, with some shade from hot sun in summer (in locations that have high temps) That's my 2 cents! Thumbs up I tip my hat to you.

I have some sedum varieties growing in my semp beds. The ones that handle drought and full sun. But many sedum do better with a little less sun and a little more water than semps. So you just have to experiment with how to use them in you particular growing climate.

Yes, it is one that can do quite well in full sun and little water. S. lydium, S. 'Silver Stone', S. 'Ruby Mantle' are a few others that do well with semps.

That is Sempervivum 'Abba' with it. And I didn't plan that. I couldn't believe it when Abba colored up that spring. It was a match made in garden heaven.

It is fun when something accidentally turns out to make color magic. I can't seem to do that on my own, like some gardeners can. So I am always amazed and happy when one of the magical accidents happen. Lovey dubby
