I agree, planning doesn't always turn out too well. Even if I start out with a planned garden, I end up putting other stuff in it anyway.

I found Sedum 'Lemon Ball' locally today! Of course, I had to have one. LOL.

Lemon Ball is not hardy for me here, I may use it as soil cover in a pot with something else, love the color. I think it'd look good with a variegated Euphorbia milii with bright red blooms.

Guess what guys another name for Lemon Ball is 'Sahara' produced by Tried & True. I just got an E-mail from them. Why not sell it as Lemon Ball?

Lemon Ball wasn't hardy here and I'm in zone 7.

It wasn't hardy for me either, but it did return!!

Mine all died. I love it, so bought 2 more. Then this 'Sahara' I guess is 3.

I have bought at least three differently named ones that all looked the same and they all croaked. Not very hardy! I will "try" to not accidentally buy it again but it is so pretty. I guess one could consider as an annual and grow in a container where it can show off its stuff!

I have lemon ball (right) Lemon Curl (left) growing side by side to see if there is a difference.

And there is a Lemon Coral. Have you tried that one Clint? My Lemon Ball did not come back, but the Lemon Coral stayed beautiful all winter.


This one also went through a very hard winter this year without batting an eyelash/leaf.

That is the other one I have tried: Lemon Ball, Curl and Coral-- all died on me. If Lemon Coral grew for you Lynn I may try it again.

This one made it through this winter in great shape also. It seems to keep the red tips year round.
