Sorry Gene, I didn't mean to say they die but stop growing any more from that spot. Now coming up from the ground and not the center stock is a different story. Thank you for your answer. My S. t. Bantal's Sensation blooms for me every winter when they are bone dry? I never noticed a die back.

I think I posted this before when it was about to bloom, maybe. Aloe Delta Lights. 9" pot. Has some seed pods. I'm about to repot it and remove pups. Gene

I forgot to post a couple things.

This is a snake plant.

This is a syngonium, which technically isn't a succulent. It isn't touching the ground anymore so I think it has become a parasite on the tree. You might know this as the houseplant arrowhead vine

This is probably Echevaria 'Topsy Turvy'

@Gleni that Kalanchoe is unbelievable! Is it fedtschenkoi?

Tiffany, it is grown from a leaf that had fallen off a little ratty plant at a local café that had some pots ornamentally arranged. I asked the owners one day what it was but they said the pots were there when they took the eatery over and they hadn't the faintest.
This plant forms a huge stand that comes out of the garden and drops onto my driveway. It has ornate grey-green foliage and is a wonderful increaser and bloomer. I will cut it back again once flowering is finished because the car will start to run over it.
I think it loves the septic system - we do not have sewerage on the island. But, then again, nothing else burgeons like that in that area of the garden. From what I can see it is not invasive and is quite content to be were it is. Visitors are all eyes when they see it.
The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.

Thanks! It's incredible! There are some pics K-fed the DB here, but mostly anatomy shots, none of a huge, gorgeous patch like yours that those of us in temperate locations could never have:

Some bamboos, eg "Sacred Bali'' Schizostachyzum brachycladum, stay alive after flowering, which happens twice a year. However, one should remove the flowering culms so they don't take all the plant's energy.

Many other bamboos flower once after a long period, even 100 years. Across the world all plants grown from an original then die. So they have to be restarted from seed.

Haworthia truncata is sending out another bloom stalk yey! I love when Fall season is here, it is like a recharge for the succulents after languishing in the intense summer heat.

Tarev, Every time I see H. truncata, I think some one cut off the tops of them. At least that's what they look like. In nature, they grow ground level just so animals don't do just that. I have several and some hybrids as well.

On another forum, my friend has about 100 or so and some worth hundreds of dollars. He cross pollinates them and grows his own hybrids. Which he was nice enough to give me some. Hurray!

Hilarious! Stush, that's exactly what I thought when I saw the photo. That's quite an odd looking plant. Blinking I think that it would have to have beautiful blooms for me to acquire it. Whistling

Deb, Believe it or not, some H. truncata sell for the most of Haworthias. Leaves grow at most maybe 1/2 inch except some hybrids of them. Show some variegation and price is outrageous.

My goodness, I don't need a plant that I may need a magnifying glass to see if it's still alive. Hilarious! Rolling on the floor laughing But some people love rarities and oddities regardless of the size or price, and that's fine too. Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. Smiling

When I first saw H. truncata, I thought it looked like a little book with its pages green and open Big Grin so I bought it!
I also have the other varieties of Haworthia, they are such resilient succulents, and survives our mild winters nicely here. Smiling

Stush your plants are looking good especially the reddish one in the upper left!
I have several and decided to test leaving them on an outside deck where they get light but not rain! We'll see how they do. Thumbs up These plants have been pretty easy for me.
I tip my hat to you.
