Our house went on the market last Friday the 9th, we got a very generous over the asking price offer yesterday so it looks like I will be saying goodbye to this place sometime in Sept. after 26 years. Mixed emotions, love my house and little garden, but I am looking forward to a new adventure and at least 1/2 acre of space. Rolling my eyes.

I put the pictures in a Picasa album, too busy to upload one at a time right now. (best as slideshow, has speed setting and pause button)

oh my, I don't know if I could handle selling my home after 26 years. We bought our home in '05 and this is the longest we've ever lived in the same home (we always moved to a different apartment after 6-12 months).

I'll have to check out your Picassa when I'm at home and have decent internet. Work internet sucks. But I'm so looking forward to seeing your beautiful roses! Are you taking them with you?

You're a true artist, Sue. It's all utterly fabulous, and it's no wonder you immediately received an offer for over the asking price at a time when other houses are languishing on the market for months and months. I can't wait to see what you'll do when you have an entire half-acre.

Thanks everyone!

Toni, I am past peak for roses although several of them have now gone into a second flush, just in time for the open house! I have a lot of roses in pots so naturally those come with me. The ones that are planted and staying behind are easy to replace. A few I will dig up as they are harder to find now.

From my list here, http://davesgarden.com/community/journals/vbc/Calif_Sue/5502...
the ones staying are:

Autumn Sunset
Brass Band
Cinco de Mayo
Eureka
Gruss an Aachen
Gypsy Dancer
Hot Cocoa
Irish Crème
Jean Giono
Julia Child
Modern Magic
Molineux
Nicole Carol Miller
Pat Austin
Polka
Tequila
Westerland
Wild Blue Yonder
(Wow, that's more than I thought there would be! I reserve the right to change my mind Rolling my eyes. )
I like each one of those enough to replace them eventually. Regans is supposed to start their sale in August.

I will be digging up:

Aloha
Autumn
Brown Velvet
Rusty
Summer Song
Sunrise

And I will leave a note for the new owners that if they decide they don't want anything, to please contact me, I will come with shovel & trash bags!

Ya know, that's sad. I can't find a Denver's Dream ANYWHERE locally.. which is retarded because I'm in the Denver metro. Sad Plus, the only times I've seen it in public gardens, it looks coral or red, not orange, like I know it's supposed to be.

But your roses are magnificent. *sigh* I can only dream, wish, & drool. Drooling Drooling Drooling Drooling

What a showcase, Sue! And your photography really shows it off well. Congrats on the sale - more adventures to come, I'm sure!

More adventures, to be sure, Mike. She's almost certainly moving to a house just 2.3 miles away from mine, in the direction of Sonoma Horticultural Nursery.
