Don't know how I missed this ..

I grafted exactly 2 weeks back. Still have not removed the cover. I can see suckers growing on the branch . Blinking I know I have to remove the suckers , but the cover is still there . Should I remove the plastic cover ? Pl suggest

It is all up to you. At 2 weeks the scion should be showing new growth now. Is your scion growing new leaves now? I only keep my plastic cover for 3 to 4 days because we have very high humidity, plus I only graft scion with an active growth already.

This plant I got with my "tiny one " . Tiny one gave seeds and is now blooming but this guy had some survival issues . It had a slight rot on the main stem and I had to cut it quite low. Kaktus was little unhappy for cutting it so low Grin

It was not growing at all. I peeled it to check but it was fine . I tried to graft it to check if all ok. After 20 days of grafting I removed the cover . Saw some bulge but jot so great . But slowly it started picking speed and this is how it looks now. The scion shrunk after sometime and saw new leaved emerging.. Smiling

Uploaded this yesterday , but didn't received any acorns from uploading though I uploaded graft for the first time lol

I'm thinking of grafting my "stump", that is still alive and healthy but hasn't developed any roots since June! I am afraid if I do not do anything it will die.

@Kaktus whatever happened to your stumps? I have a few of those that might need to be grafted this weekend.

No, I don't plan to do any grafting, I will do a lot of air layering through out the year for the double petalled Adeniums. last week I started to hard prune a lot of the single petaled adeniums, as the rainy season is approaching and the flowering season is almost over.
Thumb of 2021-11-03/Kaktus/a9c98e
With air layering I will have a better and balanced branches and will not have any issue with suckers. The downside is that there will be no caudex, but after 2 to 4 years they will also grow some big and nice looking roots, similar to root trained adeniums.
I think this year I can air layer roughly 10 adeniums.
As for the stumps, I will treat them as though they are lithops, maybe I will craft some nice looking shape on them
If they look healthy, do nothing

Blinking If that is the case, just try to see if it can grow roots before grafting, otherwise it will waste the grafting effort.
