Lynn,

I'm a little surprised that your Copper Canyon has lost its color. The original plants in the ground here are quite brown still. Megean noticed that some of theirs were paler too and I gave her one from the garden to compare. I'm sure coming from the greenhouse they have adapted a bit.

Steel Appeal looks right though!

Kevin, it did have very nice color when I got it. It is in the heat bed at the back of the house. Staying healthy, but still adjusting to its new home. I have no doubt it will color properly when it has acclimated. If not, I will move it to the other bed.
'Steel Appeal' is in the same bed but gets some lite shade from a mature Erodium.

FPF, what there is of your 'Emerald Explosion' looks healthy. We just need to figure out how much sun they can take so they can color up. I wouldn't do anything about more sun until fall, when you weather cools down.
Looking so much better. Hurray!

Here are some of my Chick Charms:
Copper Canyon

It is holding its color very well despite being in a half sun/half shade area

Steel Appeal

Again, holding its color well.

Gold Mine

All are growing well and I enjoy these new additions.

John, they all look great.

Two of min, 'Gold Mine' and 'Copper Canyon' are staying healthy, but the sun has bleached out their color. They are in the furnace bed. Sad 'Steel Appeal' is keeping it's color in the furnace bed, but it also has a bit of shade from an erodium.
The other two, 'Gold Rush' and 'Choco-Latte' are in the other bed, full sun but no reflected sun from the house, they are doing great.

We have been fortunate, the temps have cooled down, 2 days ago it was 58 on wake up, going up to the mid 70s, occasional light rains (trace). According to the forecasters going back in the mid 90s in a week.

It looks like we have at least another 3 days of around 100. Sure makes it difficult to do anything outside. On a side note, yesterday I inadvertently left 4 yet to be planted semps out where they would be in full sun most of the day. I remembered in the late afternoon and brought them into the house. They "seem" to be OK. I'll pot them up tomorrow but will bring the whole process inside right in front of the air conditioner (at best it keeps it cool to 80 deg).

Connie, stay safe. Same here with the temps in Oregon City.
So far, the ones Giant that is struggling for me is 'Gold Mine'. If it does make it through Sunday it will be okay the rest of the summer. Hopefully. All the other new Chick Charm 2022 introductions seem to be handling this intense heat.

Sad Oh no, Bev sorry to hear that. That is not a problem you usually have.

I took a few photos this morning after watering. Let me get them downloaded and I'll post them.

Kevin, how is it going at your place?
What about the rest of you? Are your new Chick Charms handling all this hot weather?

Mine seem to be doing pretty good. I have some that are in shade from about 11 on and they seem to be the happiest. I have one Gold Mine that is in the hot spot and while it is doing ok, it is losing color. All the others that are getting partial shade are doing ok. I just brought Copper Canyon back from fair and today it got a bit scorched so have moved it to shade for now.

All in all I would say mine are doing pretty good.

Good to hear that yours are doing well Melissa. How did the fair go this year?

I downloaded my photos from this morning. Mine are doing well, with the exception of losing color in 'Gold Mine' and 'Copper Canyon'. Both are healthy otherwise. They are both in the furnace bed, which says a bunch about being tough. I feel both will do better next year with retaining color. They are new this year and still acclimating.
Here is 'Gold Mine' and 'Copper Canyon':

'Choco-Latte' and 'Gold Rush' both are doing very well, but then they are in the other bed, not the furnace bed. Full sun, away from buildings.
