I am happy to say that my 'Gold Rush' has been with me for a year now. Gone through all four seasons, stayed healthy, and now has formed a very nice colony. Now, to see how she does for another summer in the garden.

Very nice colony, Lynn. Gold Rush seems to be doing very well for me. It produces more offsets than Gold Nugget.

I agree, Nathaniel. It is better all around than 'Gold Nugget'.

I found this teaser on the Chick Charm website. It's for their new Gold Dust coming out in 2024.

Nathaniel,
I suppose it's no surprise that Chris beat me to it, but I have also come up with some fuzzy plants with the gold nugget mutation. My largest colony only has about 10 rosettes, so I'm a ways off from actually naming any of them. They are however very distinct from the ones in those photos, so the market might still be interested in them by the time they're ready to make an appearance. I've bred a second generation of them this summer.

Kevin,
Is 'Powdered Pastry' the flat lavender arachnoideum you've talked about here on the forum? I haven't done any real digging to find it for sale online but it hasn't shown up at my usual favorite webstores yet.

Thanks for the info on edshostagarden99, I literally had a semp of theirs in my cart when I read that they're selling fakes on here, I'm not interested in risking it, taking my business elsewhere.

I figured it was time for an update the Chick Charmlettes since it's been about 6 weeks since my original post about them.

Very nice Nathaniel. You can sure see the influence of 'Gold Nugget' in some of them. How long have you had these new ones?

I had them about 2 months now. It was early March when I got them. They they spent about a month in an unheated greenhouse since we kept dropping below freezing for the 1st few weeks. I would say the pots have been permanently outside for about a month now.

I would say 3 of them definitely have Gold Nugget in their lineage. I'm hoping they got the more hardy traits like Gold Rush because my in ground Gold Nugget always looks like it it barely clingy to life after winter. It's making a nice recovery now but it's always slow on the rebound. Gold Rush didn't even seem phased by winter.

They are looking really good, Nathaniel.
We have been having so much rain the last week or so, not sure how new semps would fare out in the open right now.

I see there are several nurseries that have them for sale, some are already out of stock right now. I have never ordered from this one. May Nathaniel can help you with his experience with some of them.

I've purchased from In the Country before. There was nothing wrong with the plants. I did find the shipping to take a while, especially this time of year. I have also purchased Hirts.com. I have also had good luck with the PlantFinder on Etsy. I do want to point out these plants seem to bend down pretty quickly in shipping. They recover quickly but I wanted to let you know that is pretty common from my experience.
