Probably they will have it next season, you could pre-order it maybe if you talk to Ginny.

I like this thread!
I also encourage those who have a particular cultivar they're looking for to search out members of this forum who might grow said variety, and discreetly inquire (Tree Mail) concerning the members availability. There are countless hundreds of varieties in all classes that our forum members have in their collections. I've found many members are glad to share/trade if they are asked and have extra available. Some are a bit slow to respond to a tree mail, and others either flat out ignore the message or don't check there mail very often, so patience is likely recommended.
In regards to the above sought after variety, I looked up the info via the varietal link, and i noticed one member does indeed have this cultivar.
Just remember to pay attention to the status of the variety in question when contacting the members. I believe there is a sticky note concerning iris request etiquette somewhere to that effect

You know, I felt a bit intimidated about hitting folks up out of the blue in their tree mail. I'm afraid I'll come off pushy, like, "GIVE ME YOUR RHIZOOOOMES "

naw .... i wouldn't worry. The worse members can say is "no" in various polite ways. I've been told "no, sorry" many many times when i've proposed trading offers to various people. I've also had to politely decline trade offers as well.
I would approach the query as an friendly offer to trade/swap varieties of mutual interest. I doubt that you'd deliberately come across as "GIVE ME YOUR RHIZOOOOMES " -- but if you do, well then ....... Thumbs down Hilarious! Green Grin!

Wheezy: I have it and it is beautiful!!! My plant is young and bloomed heavy last year so I doubt it will be shareable but you never know. Sometimes they surprise me in the Spring with large amounts of increase. I agree, it's best though to reach out to Winterberry. I believe they take orders starting around Thanksgiving, if I recall right, so I would reach out now and find out!!!

Also, I personally don't mind getting tree mail requests from people for Irises but I do say No a lot because I lost a few prize(in my view) Irises by sharing too soon!!! In addition I admit, I just have not taken my Iris growing skills to the point the majority are Thrivers. It's a goal but I am not there yet, so small or no increase is the cause for many No's. Also I am much more apt to share with fellow chatters who frequent this forum. I am just too busy to want to sell right now but I don't mind sharing with Forum friends(fellow chatters), at all!!!

Elsa ~ I agree with you regarding splitting the iris rhizomes too soon. I cannot tell you how many remainders I have lost as a result of my desire to share these lovely flowers. I am also, still learning. Sighing!

Almost everything that I shared this year I lost, due to the fact I had to replant then leave for 3 weeks due to the evacuation order for the Caldor fire. All the other irises did not suffer, even those in pots, much to my surprise.

Barbara and Elsa ~ Thank you.

I need to go through everything and figure out which ones I really need. Right now, I am cleaning up the garden again. Weeds are reappearing and anything I do in the garden, like planting sweet peas today, required raking and weeding. So little by little, maybe I can get a bit done before spring.

I probably won't set up the new raised bed until spring as I would want to plant it with some of those in pots, and it is getting late for that now. It is cool and damp so paint does not dry well. I think late spring will be better.

One of my all-time favorites, PATCHWORK PUZZLE seems to not have survived the CA drought. I can't find it for sale. Does anyone have it for trade or sell?

I love South Jersey! But beware that what is offered changes greatly from year to year. So the one you want may not be available in 2022. You can email her though and ask. She is great to work with.

Glad I found this thread.

Evelyn, I am willing to help replace any that you have lost if I have them. I had some trouble with the Iris borer last year but hopefully the grub control I am going to put down in the spring will help with that pest. Any other ideas on how to control it would be appreciated.
Yard decor, repurposing, and flowers,
