naw .... i wouldn't worry. The worse members can say is "no" in various polite ways. I've been told "no, sorry" many many times when i've proposed trading offers to various people. I've also had to politely decline trade offers as well.
I would approach the query as an friendly offer to trade/swap varieties of mutual interest. I doubt that you'd deliberately come across as "GIVE ME YOUR RHIZOOOOMES " -- but if you do, well then .......
