Those are very pretty, Evan. It's funny how some JIs fade in color rather quickly and others hardly fade at all.

I once had a really nice white one called Summer Moon.

I bought both of these, potted, from a local nursery ... just couldn't resist. Any thoughts on Alexisaurus?

Sure! When the price comes down I'll think about getting it! It is supposedly very tall. It could be a nice background plant.

Here is another photo of Maine Charm showing three shades of fading from light violet blue to white:

And here is a photo of Greywoods Etch a Sketch, the last of my JI cultivars to bloom. It has a very nice dappled pattern and color:

Maine Charm is perfect. So these are first and second day? I ordered some Greywoods which are shipping in August. Pictures of yours and Polly's make them irresistible. I've never planted JI in summer so I'll have to make sure they get plenty of water.

Something has been at Crystal Halo. I had problems with deformed blooms last year and hit with Imidicloprid. Any ideas what this could be?

I think Maine Charm was bluish through the second day, then fading to white. I like those Greywoods irises too. There are some really nice ones.

I don't know what hit you iris but using some imidicloprid should help. It is systemic.

Warabe-Uta (and friend on a mission). Hopefully future blooms will be in better as I think I'm going to really like this little guy.

Although the standards do fall over time, the 6F classification for Oregon Marmalade isn't the impression I get.

I have that one, and I agree. Might be a good idea to make a note of it in the database, so people don't think they have the wrong plant.

Polly, most of the photos I've seen have more red in the purple. Even though my camera tends to make images look bluer, they actually are more blue/purple than red/purple in my garden. How do yours look?

I would say the same as yours, although on my monitor your standards seem to be more red/purple. All except or the first pic, anyway.

I re-read the description and the veining in the underlying fall should be "medium violet blue". We've been lacking in clear blue skies so maybe the violet is more obvious then. I also added a comment about the falls.
