@dirtdorphins I am in awe of this beautiful garden. Your photo captures so much color and interest. I particularly like the "blocks" of color created by clumps of same plants. But I am befuddled by the wide variety of plants blooming. For instance in my yard, the daffodils have long faded before the iris bloom. I assume this photo was taken in spring, but specifically, when in the spring. Where is this garden? Perhaps a zone with a compressed spring bloom season? Any insight you can offer is appreciated.

Thank you so much!
I am in zone 5b in northern Utah and I was guessing around the end of April, so it took me a while to find it again, but this photo was taken on May 1--yes spring, but spring is weird here, highly variable with the weather.
Usually my earliest blooming ephemeral things start end of February or early March, and I consider March pretty much early spring, April mid, and May late. Summer comes on strong way too early and often steals the end of spring from May, so it is compressed.
The irises you see are all MDB and SDBs (and one tall AB) which all bloom early, the daffs there are past their prime and the cherry tree blossoms are faded to pink and just about to drop everywhere...

@dirtdorphins Thanks for sharing all the "dirt" on your spring garden photo. From the sounds of it, you seized the perfect moment to capture spring's beauty. Your garden is an inspiration.
