I am in zone 5b in northern Utah and I was guessing around the end of April, so it took me a while to find it again, but this photo was taken on May 1--yes spring, but spring is weird here, highly variable with the weather.
Usually my earliest blooming ephemeral things start end of February or early March, and I consider March pretty much early spring, April mid, and May late. Summer comes on strong way too early and often steals the end of spring from May, so it is compressed.
The irises you see are all MDB and SDBs (and one tall AB) which all bloom early, the daffs there are past their prime and the cherry tree blossoms are faded to pink and just about to drop everywhere...
