Beautiful table, Ann.

Not much new around here. I did some putzing around and took a nap. I let myself take a nap if that is what my body wants.

I completed another El Paso video a couple days ago. I like this one better than the last one. This one is called Part 1 because I plan to get more pictures the next time we are out there, but this will be the last for about a year. The song is called 'The Cascades' and it's easy to see(hear) why that is an appropriate name. https://www.youtube.com/watch?... What surprised me is the quantity of palm trees. The temperature gets into the teens some times. They are probably cropped out of some of the pictures, not intentionally, they just were too far from the houses to keep.

Ann, sounds like a good project to keep you busy for awhile. A regal looking chair for sure. You can buy new furniture and select from many different materials, they usually have a wide range of fabrics and colors to choose from. When we bought out dining room furniture we picked the color and type of fabric we wanted on the chairs, the same with our recliners.

Kelli, I love all the old buildings, photos are great, but found that the info about the building not being in one place caused my eyes to jump all over the place trying to read it, causing me to miss some of the building as the photos move along rather briskly. JMHO.

Margaret, I appreciate your input. I have looked at the photos so many times that I need fresh eyes to tell me things.

I fell on the sidewalk and though I didn't fall on my bad knee and it didn't hurt all that much to get up, it really hurts to bend that knee now. I'll give it a day to improve and go from there.

Ouch Kelli. Maybe ice it and elevate it and see how it feels tomorrow. I hope it's much better, but don't push it. It could take awhile.

I got a steroid shot plus a prescription for pain and sleep yesterday at my Doc appointment. That shot was in my lower back area, and it did hurt, plus I have a knot there today and the area is very sore. The med let me get about 10 hours of sleep last night, I'm so glad. I've been limping along on 4 hours per night, and that not good sleep due to the pain. No PT at present. Tests might be in the future.
Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.

Kelli, hope that ice and elevation helped.. glad it wasn't your "bad" knee, but sure hope this doesn't mean no "good" knee!

Lynda, glad you got some help from your doctor. Yay for a good night's sleep!

I've just inherited my parents' beloved golden retriever, Josie. (Mom passed just before Easter, and Dad died unexpectedly Sunday morning). She's basically an 85 pound lapdog. My knee has been improving, so I hope I'll be able to take her on increasingly long walks -- we'll get back into shape together!

Jill, so sorry to hear about your dads passing, was he ill? I'm so glad you have their dog, Josie, she won't have to be rehoused to a stranger.
NO PAIN! And I slept on my side last night for the first time in 8 weeks.

Jill, a dog is a great excuse to get a good walk in - you might find that you meet your neighbors in the process! I got on the exercise bike yesterday - only did a mile, but have been so sedentary that I could feel even that. Will work up - I was doing 3 miles last year.

Granddaughter is scheduled for her C-section next Tuesday - good to have a plan, but after hearing how much more recovery that will take, I'm worried about her. Seems like I'm always worried about her. At least her guy is very involved an hopefully will be able to stay with her.

I heard that they're recommending the N95 masks over fabric ones, so I did send for a pack of 20. I only go to town once a week, so I intend to share with my daughter. I've always used ones I made myself, but they say they don't do the job. Gad, I wish we could get over this plague!!

I don't think I'll get the n 95s, but wear a regular surgical mask with the cloth one over it. Or I may not bother at all. According to some talking medical heads we will all get this omicrom eventually, such a bummer. Coved fatigue really affecting me right now.

Glad you got some sleep Lynda and had no pain last night. Those are steps in the right direction.

I've not been out of the house for 2 days as it's been so very cold (about 15 below zero F.) But I did 30 minutes on the bike yesterday. Today it's milder and we also have an appointment this afternoon to look at upholstery fabric samples. Might also get a walk.

They've decided to send the kids back to school in person next week and the airwaves are full of talk about that pros and cons. In some cases the negative mental effects of being online are worse than the risk of Covid. I'm with you, Lynda. I wish they'd all just get vaccinated. The province of Québec is set to impose a health-care tax on the holdouts. And where there's a system of healthcare like we have in Canada, that makes a lot of sense. Unvaccinated are taking a disproportionately large number of the available hospital beds. Ontario is reaching out to foreign-trained nurses to come and work under supervision and get their Ontario approval. Of course, the province of Ontario is the very reason there are so many foreign-trained nurses wanting to work as they make it very difficult to get their papers in Ontario. That includes even nurses trained in the USA.

We brought home some upholstery options. Of the 5 shown, we've already eliminated the one with the X through it as it's too blue.

What do you think? And can you guess which is twice expensive as the others?

Ann, I like best the one on the far left, then the one on the far right. Let me guess that the left one is the most expensive. (The middle one says Alta and alta means high, so maybe that is the most expensive.)

I think I like #5, the right end. And am guessing it is most expensive.
I had something vaguely like 1 at one time. We had a sectional sofa and I made a slipcover of sorts.
#2 seems most like your previous.
Plant it and they will come.

Most expensive? #1 or 3 maybe.

I like #2 best, # 3stripes are too small, and I find #1 and #4 a bit too busy for me. Most expensive is probably the one you like best. Hilarious!
