Yes. I didn't read far enough yesterday but I later read it was Tagetes lucida or Mexican tarragon. Here it is marketed as Texas tarragon and I do grow it. It is definitely not a Marigold fragrance but rather a licorice scent when the foliage is brushed. The only resemblance to marigold is the blooms.
In this zone it is a perennial and blooms in fall for me. I have seen others here that enjoy earlier summer blooms so it may be the location I have it growing in. Mine is by the bird bath. My thought was that will ensure that I water it through summer. Unfortunately, it is a more shaded area so the blooms may be later.
