pardalinum said:Oh rats, I don't think I can grow bougainvillea here. However a local nursery sells them I guess for those that have green houses. So what happened after the cold snap and how cold did it get?

We went down to mid 30s. I think these didn't like me withholding the water for over a week.

A small one like this bougainvillea does well if placed near a southfacing window. But I could not get it in because the south facing window area was full of indoor plants.

Finally got a chance to take a photo of my healthy green/golden tiny sedum. Hard to believe I grew this from a tiny clump, left over from what my neighbor discarded almost a decade ago. I love these as ground cover for my pots and grow well with my other succulents. This is my all time favorite and I have them growing in different pots!

If u r wondering, it's S. Japonicum (plain species).
What a wonderful, pillowy, cushiony colony!

Thank You! our local HD used to sell these but have not sold them as separate in quite some time.

Yes, so soft and if you look closely they are like super tiny jelly beans. Lovey dubby

Yes it's so pretty!!!
I love the red colors when they are sun stressed.

ACTUALLY, I think it's a subsp., specifically, subsp. japonicum. Because of the leaf shape and stress colors, and also the growth habit.
Japanese Stonecrop (Sedum japonicum subsp. japonicum)

Lynn, was this labeled subsp. japonicum, or was it a mix up? @valleylynn

If I ever find broken off pieces I just dump them into the pots of other plants. Then voila, I get a nice ground cover going. Somethings have just became weeds in my collection...

@sedumzz How is that sedum sarmentosum "cream" seedling going? Would love to see some pictures. Get it registered!

Still not sure how to register it... I am still propagating a lot of it. They root really fast.

I guess I really shouldn't be posting this in the sedum chat, but it does say "related succulents" .

Are the leaves velvety? If not, than probably not

Doesn't look like it. Money maker is usually green, unless you grow it under the burning hot CA sun. Leaves are slightly velvety. Yours looks like a dwarf form of Crassula Ovata.

I thought 'Akai' when I first saw it, but I think the leaves are too fat.

Gigi so sorry for the slow response to your above statement.
So glad you find it beautiful I did love that plant I don't have it anymore since we moved.

Hi Alex yes it is labeled correctly, and it was grown in aid location that caused it to be very stressed.
How is your weather right now are your sedum growing?

Weather outside is switching between "cold spring.... spring is almost here!" and "Oh wait it's still winter....". Clear blue skies and cloudy skies alternating... The raining/sleeting has stopped. Haven't gone outside much to check in on them, in fact, I probalby haven't checked in on them for a week or two? Whenever I lasted posted a photo of them.
I did go outside today briefly (weather was ok) and only checked on the seedlings. Seedlings are doing great.

Here in CA, its like "cool weather, but its warming up!...spring is coming" and then "hot weather, the drought is coming". No rain at all. Just heat, and more sun.

Sedum oreganum. I found it growing in the local coastal mountains. I took a few cuttings. It's not looking too great now, but we'll have to wait until summer.
