Yes, Dave changed the whole format on the site. Takes a bit getting used to.

Yes, I had to go look too and found that Dave changed the format. I agree It will take a little bit of getting used to but he said it should make things easier for phone users. Thumbs up

That might explain the stuttering as I tried to use the site last night. I was worried that it would behave that way during our swap - oh no! It seems much more responsive now. Whew.

@bluespiral Hurray! I'm so glad you'll be joining. Don't back down to those bullies in your neighborhood.

When I first logged in today, I thought something was up with my internet connection at first! Glad I'm not alone in the double-take.

I love the PlantNet app. I also find that it helps the most in narrowing down to 3 or 4 choices, but then I have to go into each choice and do some sleuthing of my own.

Definitely! It also helps me with names. Especially plant names that start with the letter "C", for some strange reason. D'Oh!

Yours is much better organized than mine. Working on at least putting them into some sort of order, to make packing a little easier.

Is it just me, or are there a lot of new swappers in this one? There are quite a few names I don't recognize. For all y'all, we're thrilled you're joining us. It's nice having people I've swapped with for years, but it's even better to get some new ones into the mix.

Ok, for all the new kids, a couple of hints & tips.

The last couple swaps have had some hiccups, especially the first couple nights when tickets were released. Everyone logging in at the exact same time can cause things to bog down. If that happens, don't worry about it. Dave, our awesome admin, is usually on top of things & quick to help set things right.

Any other words of advice from us habitual seed junkies?

What on earth happened to the formatting... this morning I thought it was just my phone, but it's weird on my laptop at work too...

Welcome Newbies, remember we were all new once and experienced the same feelings.
Hint 1: In case you have not already done it. Prioritize your wish list so you have at least your 10 most wanted items at the top. If someone claims some of your seeds you will get extra dibs to use.
Hint 2: Have your wish list open and ready to refresh the page when the clock strikes the starting time. At that point you can start tapping those treasure chests. Sometimes you will get congratulated and some times it will let you know the item is already claimed. So close that box (window) and move on to your next pick.
Hint 3: Check in though out the evening because you may have accumulated some additional dibs to use.
Hint 4: While I am waiting to see if I get extra dibs I remove all the items I have dibbed on or items that go down to 0 so my list stays fresh.
Hint 5: A couple of lists will appear in your main swap page, one for items you got and one for items that you will be sending in later for others.
Hint 6: At the end of the swap, a master list will be posted so that you know what to bag up for each person who claimed your seeds.
Hint 7: The most important! Have fun and ask questions if you have them.
We are so happy to have you join us.
Toni

Piggybacking on hint 4 above: There's also a checkbox or toggle button at the top of the seed list that says "exclude zero quantities". Sometimes people will add more packets later during the swap, so if you keep them in your list you might get a second chance at them.

Check the "View Recent Events" list, and check the box that says "exclude dibs". That way you can see what's been added.

Thanks for the reminder about this okie! I just posted in the 'important messages' thread, but I'll reiterate it here. This is the first swap since the upgrade, so there's always a chance that an unexpected issue will arise. If that does happen, please post about it in the 'important messages' thread and tag @dave.
