Yes, I have used them before but not last year. The year before I got some coneflowers for about 3.00 a piece. Even PowWow Berry for 2.99, I only had about two flowers but I got a hundred seeds and was doing some good trades. Green Grin! I wanted this because it is evergreen and great winter color!
Yucca Color guard was introduced to us by Clint and it is in the data base too. I will give you the link for GHS because they had them the cheapest. http://www.gardenharvestsupply...

Seems to me like I have noticed hummers going to the nepta plants in my garden they have smaller trumpet shaped flowers and also the OT lilies which are huge and scented. I really need to watch to see which flowers the hummingbirds are visiting. Usually I am busy doing something and see the hummers but don't always pay attention which flowers they are visiting.

I would watch the little hummer girl last year that would visit. I especially love the end of the season when they are around A LOT as they prepare for their long journey. I felt bad for her. I had these giant red dahlias that she was so drawn to. But she always forgot she didn't like to EAT from them! Luckily I have tons of agastache and cana that she seemed to really enjoy.

I hope I get some Hummers this year! I am thinking about getting a small HB feeder or two just in-case. I believe I have enough red to attract them.

Betty, this is where I saw it. Thumbs up

Wow that is a high price for it, think I will wait for it to become more available at a lower price. Just keep adding flowers to your garden the hummers should come around most certainly with the red flowers.

We were talking about that the other day on Mail Orders or Good Sources? Confused
That is just the way they are, but they send big healthy plants and have great packing. If you can afford,. you would not be sorry, everyone loves them.

I am working. *Blush* I do have a ton on great plants and some Major Wheeler coming! Where are the hummers now? I saved this from the day before.

Thumb of 2013-04-03/virginiarose/ca19de

Sad I hope they don't get here too soon, nothing is blooming! This is where the feeders come in, if they find nothing then they will just keep going.

I think I will order Little Trudy from Romence Gardens they have it for $5.49 ea. Last year I odered Major Wheeler honeysuckle from them and it was a very nice large healthy well packed plant, so I may give them a try on the nepeta. They are also located in Michigan.

Placed my order to Romence Gardens for six Little Trudys they come in quart size pots which seems like a pretty good size for the price. Plus Romence Gardens has very good garden watchdog ratings.

Thanks for the tip Betty. Is is true the shipping is reasonable? 5.49 is great price for quarts!
Last year I knew someone on Cubits who got great Coneflowers from them and he said shipping was very reasonable. Thumbs up

You can go on their site and put your zip code in to find out how much shipping would be to you. They have a special going right now on discounted shipping the percentage depends on how much you purchase. I think you can find out the shipping by zip when you go to checkout if you think it is to high just close the window and don't finish the order. With the discount I didn't think it was to bad.

Here's the link for the map. http://www.hummingbirds.net/ma...

Click refresh/reload each time. DH and I do it several times a day.

I have four Hummingbird feeders out, two in the front and two in the back. I have four ant moats hanging above the feeders filled with water to keep the ants from crawling to the feeder. http://www.duncraft.com/Red-An...

Turns out the small songbirds use the ant moat for a personal watering hole! Hurray! Thumbs up

I refill the ant moat everytime I change the Hummingbird sugar solution and top the water off every night.

I also was at my local Tractor Supply store and saw that they had Hummingbird feeders that was red glass for $9.99 (I think that's the price), so I got them. I already have a couple of feeders, but I thought the glass being red would be better, esp. for the Hummers moving north (to get their attention).

I've had two of those new feeders up since the night of March 14. LOL

I'm still waiting and hope they are here this week!
