Here's the horse I had to redo the tail on. He's finally sealed with finish spray, all I have to do now is gloss the hooves, eyes and sign it. I'll be glad to unload it.

Well, I bought some new paint colors and canvas. Have some painting ideas to work on over the next while.

Just hope I remember how to paint. I tend to draw everything anymore. I haven't used oil or acrylic paint in quite a while.

My artistic whims are also unpredictable, and very seasonal.

Mine comes in waves. I'll want to do stuff, then the inspiration just dies and I don't touch my work for a while.

Only crafty thing I've done lately is my crochet tarantula (posted in the crochet thread). Otherwise, haven't had the inspiration to do anything artsy. Been reading a lot of articles on art techniques to try to get inspired. But nothing yet.

That's fantastic, Abigail! I love everything about it, but probably especially the budding branches.

It's not a crafty time for me, it's primary plant season. But I did start re-painting some porch decor that has faded over the years - while sitting on the porch enjoying the weather before the mosquitoes get started.

Abigail I love that picture! It looks genuinely like clouds and budding branches. Only thing, myself, I would not put the initials on the painting. I hope you do not mind my saying so but I feel it deters from the overall beauty. Only my opinion. I am certainly no expert.

Thank you all for your kinds words! Tigerpaws, I am actually inclined to agree with you. I added the initials and at first was a little disappointed because it seemed like it sort of took away the focal point of the branches against the sky. But I still like it and I know my friend will definitely like it, so I decided to leave it. And all opinions on my artwork is welcome. It helps me to see what I could have done better.

Abigail, there is nothing you have to do better, that painting is beautiful. I just hope I didn't offend you by my mentioning the initials, that was just my stupid opinion and what do I know I'm not an art expert. Your friend will love the painting and she did want the initials. I would be proud to have that painting, it reminds me so much of cherry blossoms in Japan. Great work! You are very talented.

I didn't paint this. But I wanted to share as I thought it was interesting.

My parents live in a renovated church. They got it when I was in middle school for a good price and renovated it into a house. Well my dad went out this morning and found someone had left an oil painting of the house on the porch.



Reminds me of when I was a teenager. Someone brought us a teapot with the house on it too.

From what I've found, the painting was done by Paul Schleusner, a German artist who moved to Canada. Looks like he had a studio in nearby Port Stanley. Unfortunately he passed away in 2009.

Makes me wonder if a relative had it, or if someone else owned or found it and decided to drop it off?

Either way, I thought it was neat.

The bell tower isn't there anymore. We had to have it removed because it became a bat cave and we had problems with bats constantly getting in the house.
