@sunkissed most of the plant 'shops' that have opened up are just little botique bullshit places (I hate to say that but its true). Serpentine has a large Licuala grandis potted palm in their shop (which also sells stuff like candles and whatever) its a one off for sure why they even brought it in is a mystery...I have NO IDEA what the price tag is but its there along with Marble Queen epipremnum, common Home Depot calatheas. fiddle leaf figs. Monstera D etc and a few and far between nice aroids, just sitting there. One of the others is Roots Plant Shop and Provisions

Thanks Gina for the information, unless we have a rain day I won't be shopping, but sometimes that happens, and I get bored. Alice I think we'll take your advise and go walk around Kanapaha after the weekend plant sale, that way we can bring our dog, and my husband will go...LOL. I've never been there and really would like to enjoy it without the crowds.

Yes, I don't think dogs are permitted during the sale but they are welcome all other times. Dogs are welcome at Cedar Lake Woods and Gardens also and it is not too far from where you will be. .

OMG Thank you Alice, I didn't realize how close Cedar Lake Woods and Gardens is to Micanopy, we've been talking about going there for well over a year, but it is quite a drive from our house. Some friends told us about it last year. Thank You!

The new flush looks like what Tofi posted. AS it ages, it reverts to green. It takes a while though so you get to enjoy the colors for a bit

I have to agree that Browneopsis ucayalina is one interesting plant. Who needs flowers when the leaves look like that.

The Data base has pictures from @Gina1960 with right light and color. I have just realized that it is in Brownea genus now, and Browneopsis as synonym.
The seed is quite large and easy to grow, even the first leaves will show bloody spotty color, so it will be nice as a small plant for temporary desk ornamental, until it is getting too big, just like we grow avocadoes pits.

Tofi, I would love to see a bloom and get seeds. I have 2 other Brownea, one has bloomed but did not set viable seed. I also have a Mantiloa that I have high hopes for
