Just a photo update of my semp arach..it really looks like it is ready to walk away, like a real spider Hilarious! I guess with the recent repot, it is enjoying the space around it, along with the sedums.

So do I just wait for those stolons to dry off before I move the babies or is it okay to nip it off and transplant?

If you already see some babies developing the slightest root system and attached to the soil, they can be nipped off but if not then leave connected a little longer especially if still small. I sometimes go by the baby's root system or their size. Some semp babies can get quite big and still not develop roots depending on which semps they are or no access to soil or moisture.

I agree with Bev. Leave the offsets on the plant until they are larger rosettes themselves. Having clumps of plants is attractive as well. Letting the offsets get larger increases the odds of the offset establishing well. I generally wait for the offsets to get about an inch or larger before moving, but that also depends on how big the variety gets.

I have a new Arachnoideum which I potted up the other day. I do not usually care for the ones with spider webbing

but this one caught my eye and I brought it home. I think I am really going to like it It is labeled

Sempervivum Aracnoideum "St Cloud' Hens and Chicks.

I am still working on many others, some purchased and some from Chris and some from Tabby.

Wish my back didn't scream after 10 minutes of lifting and potting.

Oh and I discovered there is a difference between chick feed and chicken feed. The chick feed is almost ground to powder ....

better for the babies to digest I guess. Hope it does the job on Semps
