It would be funny if after this photo it blew away or fell onto the ground/floor. I would probably do that

Often times these few-seeded pods have the most interesting progeny. A number of my best parents have come from crosses like this. I got ONE seedling from 'Greenwich Time' but that seedling is giving all sorts of marvelous velvets with new forms and colors.

More crosses, just for fun...
99% chance this will not work:
Echeveria purpusorum x Aeonium 'Zwartkin'

And here's a Aeonium haworthii flower. I attempted to pollinate it with some A. decorum pollen. I doubt the resulting cross will be interesting.

Fun is what it's all about Evan!
How cool would it be to get Echevaria x Aeonium seedlings? and who knows maybe you will land an interesting seedling from a less interesting cross? Probably not, but the only way to find out forsure is to try!

Evan is gone, Sol. He sent me a tree-mail a few days ago, saying he would be leaving the site. Sad

Johannian,
Thanks for letting me know about Evan, I've been somewhat despondent here myself lately with so much going on this spring. Many members have phased in and out of activity in the years I've watched the sight, I'm hoping Evan makes a comeback someday, the insight was always fun to hear.

Thanks for the updates on Evan's work Alex, the photos are of a high quality and the forms of blooms and aeonium seedlings are intriguing. I like that Evan is posting a record of the work, my own breeding records are confined to notebooks and saved over seed packets.

-Sol
