Hey everyone!

My aglaonema has produced a flower, which I'm assuming it means that it's thriving.

The question is should I cut it off? A quick Google search says that I should because it takes away from the energy needed to produce new leaves. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I have numerous Aglaonemas (Aglaonema) plants and the flowers aren't at all attractive in my opinion but I'm lazy and don't often get around to removing them. It won't hurt to prune them off.

By the way, your plant is lovely!

I'm not sure why everyone says to cut them off. Its unnecessary, but, if you don;t plan to try and propagate it for seeds, it won't hurt to remove it

Beautiful plant! I love the blooms! They're just like peace lilies, without the long stem. I'm sure you plan on having your plant indefinitely, just let it do its thing, which, at this time of year, is to bloom.

Honestly, it doesn't really matter that much if you cut the flower off, like others have said.

I think I'm going to leave it alone and see what happens.

It will be pretty for a few weeks, then turn brown, similarly to so many other flowers. If you don't enjoy it, there is no harm in cutting it off. You get to do whatever you want with your plants, which I think is part of the fun.

I currently have blooms on a couple of my Aglaonema plants but I'm too lazy to bother removing them.

This is Aglaonema 'Spring Snow'

Don't remember the name of this one with the fading spathe and spadix.
