LOLLL.. I *wish* that was my yard... but no, alas, it's not. Found out about hydrogen peroxide one time when I was trying to get out a nasty splinter. I personally hate H2O2 as it burns my skin, but it got all the ground-in dirt from under my nails & whatnot cleaned away. And it does look like corn in the background, doesn't it. but that's not my picture.. no idea who's pic that is. My yard is brown & ugly.

Pretty neat subject line . Other then bubbling out debris from cracks in skin. Try a table spoon of 40% Hydrogen peroxide per two gallons of water. Roots also need oxygen. Do let me know the results.

I grow lots of types of plants in a freshwater aquarium. I treated some green "hair algae" with peroxide and it worked great. Details can be found online.... you must be careful how much you use per amount of gallons of tank. I turned off all the filters so there was no current in the tank. I used a big syringe I got from my vet's office to draw up a little peroxide - Then, carefully put the needle right down to where the algae was growing on the plants and driftwood, and very slowly pushed the plunger while I moved the needle around in the area. Leave for 20 minutes. Turn filters back on. Next day do a normal water change. It might not look like it does anything for a few days. After a week, it was all brown.

I will try to remember this trick about it removing dirt. My skin is dry, so always have those hairline cracks that you can't scrub garden dirt out of.

Juli to grow hair algae is not an easy task. Where is the aquarium placed, out in the sun? Tooooo much light

Arif - don't want to side track the thread - yes, the light was to strong. I replace it with an LED last week that is not so bright.

I will be giving this a try. I find it difficult to remember to put gloves on.

I battle nail dirt especially at the cuticles. I use the soap in the nails trick but this is a good remedy.

Thank you! I never remember to put on gloves until after I have started puttering around in my yard. I use my pockets to hide the ground in dirt!
