Love that tall slim blue iris!
Do you collect the elderberry flowers?
Over here we make nice lemonade. And in winter, dried flowers are good for tea.
Didn't have time to make any refreshment this year... was just too "busy" I guess....

Those are lovely harbingers of spring!

here the fulva europa with to early buds, normaly it flowes in june, but now 12 ince tall





Today I found a lot of "grief rose beetles" (Oxythyrea funesta) in the garden. In Germany these beetles are on the Red List (endangered species). Of this I have now found more than 30 copies. For one, I think it's great that with me as many of the animals are rare. Secondly, make a big damage to the daylilies. Last year I had some varieties fertilized and the beetle always ate the fruit thread from me.
I have 3 of these Tulip flowers and they were all full of bugs ...

My first daylily flower (Stella D´Oro). It was a bit faster then the early Fulva!

We are in a similar zone. What other flowers do you have growing with your daylilies? I had mine growing in large planters. Surrounding them were pampas grass and blackberries. Also had butterfly bush, echinacea, and I think an artemisia (silver mound). Probably still have pictures of some of those somewhere.

... well similar zone ... but Wiesbaden is so diffrent to New Mexico ... there is no desert close to me :-). My preference are lilies, hemerocallis and iris. I have also ohter plants/flowers among them. You can see them in the hitory of this trade.

So weather is a bit colder now. The fulva was afraid to open the flower
