I agree
It will be interesting to see if the treated one will produce more offsets though. It is good to know that I will be getting offsets from these two plants before they bloom and die.

Yes, I'll be anxious to see if you can tell any difference between using it or not.

Okay, time for an update on my S. 'Gruenrand'.
The two that were treated with Configure are producing offsets now. The larger of the two treated semps has 4 offsets so far, the smaller has two.
The untreated semp has 6 offsets so far.
Untreated semp with small semp on the left. Sorry you can't see the other offsets on the back side. Soon I should be able to take a photo from above that will show all the offsets.
Thumb of 2013-06-03/valleylynn/125037

Sorry, forgot to take a photo of the treated larger semp. Sad

So, the configure didn't really do much, is that what this means?? Interesting that they are all sending out offsets this year!

I agree That is interesting. Gruenrand has a lovely shape, not as tall as a lot of semps and rather open. Lotus-like. Nice!

I did notice that the large rosette that I sprayed with configure lost a bunch of leaves. They looked like they melted and died. Then the plant recovered and seems to be doing fine now.

I did more all of them into a different bed a couple of weeks before I started the experiment. Wonder if that had anything to do with it? Shrug!

The form is one of the reasons I love it so much, it is what is called a waterlily form of sempervivum. And it is red, or mostly red year round.

You would love it even more in person Bev. So sad that it is so slow to produce offsets. Sad

I so love this semp. This the the one that was not treated with Configure. The babies are growing nicely.

The small rosette/offset from last summer, still hasn't shown any sign of making offsets. It was treated with Configure.
The other larger rosette (treated with Configure) still has 4 offsets, but they don't seem as hardy/large as the untreated plant.

Interesting Lynn!! I'm wondering if I can/should treat a semp with Configure once it looks like its coning? Did I wait too long?
