Salvia. Apparently the wind blew some plastic thing over there. I didn't even see it until I was looking at the pic, concentrating so hard on the plants.


I wasn't expecting survival from this, and there were several spots of it. It's still alive in 1 spot, Plectranthus forsteri.


4'o'clocks coming up among this Sedum. This is a good arrangement, the Sedum is pretty much over for the season by the time the 4'o's get going.

Yesterday I noticed some foliage starting from the Dahlia tubers I planted about 6 weeks ago. And some things that aren't expected to be hardy here coming back from the roots after the unusually mild winter, Angelonia, Exacum affine (Persian violet.) Not totally sure yet, but I left the debris of last years' plants in place so I could reasonably suspect if anything placed intentionally started sprouting back up.

Also think some porterweed has survived - about 4" from where a Dahlia is sprouting. Hmm... somebody may need to move.

I always love the dark growth on Serious Black clematis in the early spring

Lucky you! Morels are so much harder to find here... than up your way...

Part of the problem is they seem to be a different colour in each state that I've visited...

Thank you for the suggestion. There are suddenly about 25 of whatever this is. I haven't seen any Physostegia since I lived in OH. I wouldn't want that on purpose, but as far as volunteers go, would probably be my best find on this property.
