Were you nervous? When I lived in Z5, central OH, Hostas were considered very reliable perennials.

Not this one! This is my fourth attempt for this one. I've read that many people consider it an annual. I've had this one for 3 years. Also I've found that the more you pay for them the less reliable they are😁

The more white on a hosta the harder to grow. It has to do with the lack of chlorophyll.

Rose, another reliable rule of thumb is:
The more you pay for a plant, the sooner the deer eat it.

I looked up the Plant Database info on White Feather - I can see how it is likely a challenge to survive - looks like it needs a chlorophyll infusion! Here's a picture from Mike in the Database. Looks like a beautiful plant. Good work, Rose!

Golden dew drop (Duranta erecta) is technically alive, but I don't know how satisfying this is going to be. I have a lot of herbaceous plants but they are doing a lot more by now. Will it have enough time and oomph to get much bigger? Bloom? The naked stems were all leafy and blooming when frost took it down.

Blue daze (Evolvulus) is definitely dead. I'm not writing it off as not hardy yet. I want to try again and put propagated plants in the ground, not store-soil root balls. The plugs of peat where 2 root balls were grounded is distinctly visible. It was so pretty last year.

Euphorbia 'Diamond Frost' is definitely hardy here if it's back again after this past winter. It has been there for a few years but I was prepared to give up on it this year because of the long, harsh winter.

Scott that White Feathered Hosta slowly dwindled down to nothing . I see a nursery pushing a new and improved white hosta.
