It's kind of odd. I have a few variegated plants that I love, but I wasn't necessarily drawn to all variegated plants. I have a close friend who would go nuts...."Ooh,,,it's variegated..." and I just be thinking yeah, and? Now I find myself suddenly saying, "Ooooh, it's variegated..." Where does it come from? Don't know, but I've learned lately to say that i don't care for it 'right now', but I may later, even next week....I'm pretty sure I'm influenced by the height the scrophularia reaches also.......
I could be wrong...
and.....
"maybe I should have kept my mouth shut....."

Beautiful trilliums.

Here are some scenes from my front yard, pics taken just now in the morning.

This is my favorite new pairing: a friend gave me a cutting of a ground cover euphorbia (anyone know the variety, by chance?). It is spreading kind of aggressively, but I love the lime green next to the lithodora 'Grace Ward'.

More lithodora. This time paired with Erysimum 'Apricot Twist' (I love these---bloom orange from now through September---I can't believe I got them at Costco).

Stylophorum diphyllum (celandine poppy) next to a Japanese maple:

Kosk, perhaps 'Fens Ruby' on your euphorbia? I got some of that from my sister and it is low growing and spreads happily, blooms for a long time, and even has nice red fall color. Easy to pull up where not wanted. Just a guess, but sure looks similar. Pretty photos.

Thanks, Deb---I think you are right. Fens Ruby probably the one, or one similar to it. You're the best!

Here are some pics from this morning. Everything took off blooming b/c we've had 3 consecutive days in the mid-70's.

Ajuga reptans 'Mahogany' interplanted between stones in a small patio, which is in front of my greenhouse entrance.

Allium about to open already:

And my favorite spring shrub, a snowball viburnum, just starting its lime green phase. Will eventually turn to big fluffy white balls in mid to late May:

My front bed is becoming more vibrant every day. Still working on spring cleanup/top dressing but easier to do now that there are some blooms to show for it.

Unknown tulips behind euphorbia (Polychrome) with an incoming daylily (Stella) and golden barberry (Aurea) in the background

And from the flip side, Aurea next to monkshood (Stainless Steel) with heuchera (Green Spice) and lambs ears in the forefront:
