Tutankhamun that you mentioned is midseason here, and that's how it's registered. Makes me wonder why it would be early over there.

Starts here at the end of May/beginning of June - see date stamp on the picture/some examples:

This year everything is delayed for about two weeks here in my place - the weekend was cold and rainy and I didn't see the first flower on Before; there are some other new ones here that should start to flower now but this years weather was far from normal.

Lava Flow is early and scaping now for me. The Tribble With Blue has already flowered, even though the registration doesn't say anything about it's season. One of it's parents ( Admiral's Braid) is a M and the other parent ( Point of Divergence) is EM so I'm not sure where this EE behavior is coming from.
Stella di Oro will open any day now.
I have 14 other scapes but they are all on new plants that were mostly grown in greenhouses.

My sole registered cultivar scape is on Wild Dolly.
Registered as an extra-early. So I guess it makes sense.
If only willpower alone could form scapes! I keep sending them all positive vibes.

My Amethyst Prism had spring sickness and is also an extra-early. So, I guess delayed scapes are better than none, should any wish to appear. Crossing Fingers!

Saratoga Springtime- the only EE large flower here. 6" orange with a red eye. The database shows a clump with scapes above the foliage. Mine doesn't succeed in that very well. It's completely reliable though, and I always enjoy seeing it.

Saratoga Springtime is blooming for me for the first time. Started on 5/27. It isn't much above the foliage either.

I finally had time today to look for scapes. I haven't had much time to garden so the weeds had taken over. Once I pulled most of them I found several struggling daylilies. But surprisingly there were 11 registered cultivars with scapes! There were also 2 seedlings & 2 NOIDs with scapes.

EE & E diploid cultivars are my primary focus thus my interest in this thread. Just came in after a quick survey of what is going on 'Out-There' today, May 31st ...... (Probably Z5b? - Ontario, Canada approximately 30+ miles north of Lake Ontario.) .... Seems to be running about a week earlier than 'usual FFO' ....
- Species dumortierii - '22 FFO May 24 - Earliest ever May 20 - Usually May 24th
- Species middendorfii - '22 FFO May 26 - Earliest May 18 - Usually May 25th
- Species 'lillio/Flava' - '22 FFO May 27 - Earliest May 27? - Usually June 06th
- Begin With A Bang (Huben '09) - Scaping - ETA Same as earliest @ June 11 - Usually June 16
- Joy Of Spring (Kamensky '95) - Scaping - ETA - Ditto above BWAB
- Little Red Spring Song (G. Rood '98) - Scaping - ETA June 01-03? - Usually June 10th
- Stella de Oro - NO scapes here BUT 10 miles north-east '22 FFO May 25 (Divisions of my plants)
- Bakabana (Heemskerk '11) - '22 FFO ETA June 2-3 (New cultivar here)
- Cobb's Hill Joy (Zettek 13) - '22 FFO ETA June 15-18? - Usually June 25th
- Orangeman (Yeld 1906) - '22 FFO ETA June 06-08? - Usually June 13th
- About 30+ seedlings (various ages) (Mostly BWAB & LRSS & other EE/E's**) Now showing EE scapes - FFO ETA June 6 >>? (** Ice Trumpets + Reginald + Endless Heart + Peter Pan + Chiara + Black Eyed Stella + Bone China + Stars My Destination + Sky High Butterfly + 'Flava F1's + Vernal Tutone + Early Bird Oriole ++)

Sue @Nightlily Thanks for the pics of Tutankhamun! Yours looks like mine. I will try to notice when it flowers and get pics. If it's early here I might miss FFO. I have a broken ankle from losing the challenge by some stairs on May 4th. I won't be able to be in the garden until at least mid-June.

@Zoia, thanks for your report! Sounds like you're on the verge of an explosion of blooms! Hope so.

Orion @plasko20 , you have an interest in spring sickness ? Wonder if we could discuss that by Tmail? How badly damaged was Amethyst Prism? When the damage is not too severe I've observed scapes produced, usually delayed and with fewer buds. I'll send some positive vibes to your daylilies. ๐Ÿงš๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Heidi @mom2cjemma , Thanks for reporting your Saratoga Springtime scapes are short too! I feel better now. ๐Ÿ˜€

Elena @bxncbx Happy finds! Almost makes weeding seem worthwhile? I'm not as concerned about finding scapes under the weeds when I can go into the garden as I am about finding the plants!๐Ÿ˜„

@Wildbirds , What a terrific report! Thanks for sharing ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป I just acquired some of the daylilies on your list plus a few other claimed EE's. Next year I hope to have a list like yours!

Debra @shive1 , Those are some big beautiful flowers to kick off your season ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป Thanks for sharing ! Now I want both!

Can you all tell I'm trying to catch up? I hope there will be more early reports. The EE's and E's receive more appreciation here thanks to the lack of competition.

I do have some extra early bloomers that bloom for me in June. But they are kind of plain looking generally, and I don't want to put them in the June Blooms thread because there's something awesome going on over there. So I'll do this.

I just had my first blooms of Stella yesterday! 12 days later than it started blooming in 2021. Most of my plants have been at least 5-10 days late this spring.
