Thanks all, It's been too wet to do anything today. Although I did buy some 10mm grit that I can mix in with the soil and also use as top dressing. I just neeed it to stop raining!

Some sneak peaks of my rock bed. It's not quite finished yet so I wont post a whole overview until my last 2 plants arrive and I've settled them in.

In the end I decided to go with Jovi's instead of sedum. I can't wait for them to fill in and make a puddle of plants

Wow, Kate, you started up a great bed! I personally was hoping you would do that!!! Hurray! Hurray!
Are all your semps in the bed or is there more to plant? Since you decided against the sedum in the fallen pot...and you have so much room, you can still do sedum in the other parts of the bed. It would compliment the semps and add to the green factor. Oh what fun you must have had and will continue to have... nodding Hilarious! Oh, gotta go check on my bed... Whistling Have a good wkend!

Kate how lovely!!! Really pretty! The Jovi allionii will fill in very quickly! Within a couple of months I bet! What a cool idea! (and since I love those "rollers'') I think its going to look better using these rather than sedums! Hurray! Thumbs up I tip my hat to you. Very nice job!

Thanks all, it's been a lot of hard work, but I've really enjoyed it.

Bev, there are currently 21 different semps planted there, with 2 more to go in. I probably have roughly the same number of different types in pots and in my tin baths. My plan is to take chicks off them later in the year to add into this bed so that all my named semps are in one bed. Then I want to collect some beautiful Heuffi's I only have one of those so far, and it's feeling a bit lonely Big Grin

Feel free, It's not really my idea, there are fallen pots will all types of plants spilling out of them on Pinterest, it's far from my idea, but I haven't seen it done with jovi's before.

Do you really think that the 'puddle' will fill in this summer Greg? This lot of jovi's haven't started sending out babies yet, but my other pot is just starting to. It'll be cool if it does.

I haven't posted pics of the whole bed yet because I've left spaces for the 2 new semps that should come this week. The brown patches spoils the over all look, but as soon as they come I'll be posting more!
The only thing I'm not 100% happy with is the inclusion of some smaller stones. Rather then go to the beach again I made use of what I already had, but to be honest A few bigger stones would have looked better. So that's something to change at a latter date. But they can stay for the time being.

It is exciting Kate!!! From my experience 'rollers' fill in and make a mat pretty quickly - one thing I do though is when they are rolling, I move the chicks to where ever I want them, and this fills the space in quicker too!! You can move the chick from a roller as soon as it detaches, especially if you're keeping an eye on them!!
Enjoy! I tip my hat to you. Hurray!

Roller watching - sounds like a new sport! Obviously you need a hide and binoculars, but to you need camoflage clothing too?

Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Kate, I think if you come upon a group of them they feel pretty safe. But if you find any that got cut off from the herd, I'd be careful around it! So camo might be a good idea.
