Thanks, Marilyn. The plant towards the back is a Heucherella 'Sweet Tea' that I rooted last fall. That was the first Heuchera-type plant I ever rooted. It's towards the side that gets less sun. I used a different mix with less grit for it. I hope my Delosperma 'Fire Spinner' blooms this year. I was shocked how long the roots were. I turned them sideways down the log so they would have more room. I think it will do great!

I hope so. I wanted to put some Angelina Sedum around the Purple Semps to make them pop. If it crowds them any or vice/versa, I'll pull out and plant in other spots in the garden. This was so much fun! I also fixed the first photo that wasn't showing up. I wanted you all to see the Delosperma 'Fire Spinner' and how much it grew from a cutting over the winter. It actually grew into another pot it was sitting on top of. I had no idea the roots of that one got so large!

OHHHH I just love it. What a nice birthday gift to give yourself, you will enjoy for years, I know.

That fire spinner is lush... Can only imagine how pretty when it blooms. Is everything in full sun?

all my delosperma died in the intense heat last summer, am not ready to try again yet. Angry Crying

They get some shade in the hottest part of the day, especially the ones on the end towards the Heucherella. I have been experimenting with Semps here and they do ok with some shade. I guess it's so hot and humid here in the summer that it helps protect them some.

Clint, That is one long log. I kept thinking railroad track...
I wouldn't have been able to stop planting it. You have good self control; and you have some nice specimens. That's not Carmen sitting in there, is it? If not, what is the big green semp sitting in picture 2 a little after the delosperma?

Thanks, ya'll! I did get carried away by getting such a huge log, but when I saw it, I knew I had to have it. My Dad said the last Catalpa log he used lasted 20 years. I figure with these plants not needing much watering that I can make it last even longer. I'm going to slide some sort of concrete tiles up under it to keep the weeds out from around it and prevent moisture on the log.

I didn't put Silver King in there unless it's one of the NOIDS. That is Carmen. I like her so much, I just had to stick her in there. She's about to be a mother so I gave her a little extra room. However, her babies may be put up for adoption if she puts out too many. Rolling on the floor laughing

It's round and thick. I've had it outside for 2 years and never planted it. It's so crazy that I got it that cheap. They had them 90% off.
