I got the Dwarf project seeds at Heritage Tomato seeds-
http://heritagetomatoseed.com/

And I didn't forget about starting the tomato seeds, I just could get up the enthusium in snowy February to have to plant things. Sad

I grow my melons vertical, saves lots of space. My cukes go vertical also.

Oops, that's where we got ours too! Which ones did you get?

I remember, we tried to talk you into starting the seeds! Try and remember what fun it is to watch every day to see if anything is peeking through the soil! Thumbs up

Good choices! Another one to try, but not a dwarf, Barlow Japanese. Delicious tomato.

Honestly they all seemed like good varieties to me. But I really would like to try the dwarfs. Only way is to start my own seed. Another batch of tomatoes I would like to try are the ones from Wold Boar Farms. I ordered a bunch of those seeds too but of course didn't start them either.

Hmm, I am not familiar. Let me check it out. We got a lot of our seeds in tomato seed exchanges (my son did) so many I never heard of but we are building our favorites (and customer's) every year and then try new ones as well.

I FINALLY have all 50 flats of plants outside (Today was the first day for the 8 flats of basil). Almost all are on my driveway waiting for the truck pick-up on Friday. YAY!!!! As much as I love growing plants, this time of year gets stressful with fighting unpredicatable weather and wanting these plants to be beautiful for the sale.

I am on vacation next week, so I can finally get my garden planted.

Rita: I grew a couple of tomatoes from Wild Boar Farms. I grew Berkeley Tie Dye, and (I think) Brown and Red boar. Berkeley Tie dye did well and I enjoyed the tomato. Brown & Red boar was grown during a miserable growing season here, so I'[d really need to grow it again to give a fair judgement.

So many tomatoes to try, too little space Shrug!

Linda, hurray! 50 flats is sure a lot of plants.

Some day I will get to starting my own tomato seeds. I have a lot of those Wild Boar intros and they really looked like great tomatoes to me.

Oh Linda, I feel for you! It's fun growing the plants but can be stressful maintaining them. You'll be so happy to get your garden done next week.

Arlene--you are so right. I love growing them, but it is so stressful maintaining them. Our weather is so "iffy" in the spring. After bringing in all 50 flats due to 2 nights of frosty temps, 2 days later we were in the 80's and the plants were drying out so quickly. Last night a storm blew through and knocked over plants and filled trays with water. I was up at 6 am to empty all of the standing water Angry

I was so happy to come home tonight and see everything gone!!! Of course, I'll be tending them at the plant sale tomorrow (set-up day) and Saturday (sale day). I wanted to lay down on my driveway and just yell "YAY!!!!!". My husband and I went out and sat in our swing tonight instead of watering plants. It was a good feeling.

Now we just have to hope for a successful sale. Last year, we sold ~12,000 plants in 6 hours. It's crazy busy in a good way. We use the money to fund scholarships ($15,000 this year) and community projects.

I am on vacation next week, so I can finally pay attention to my garden. I can't wait to get my veggies planted and the yard weeded/cleaned up (I HATE a messy garden).

So, it's almost over. That's a lot of plants.

I had several days of draining the trays sine we had a lot of rain here as well. Sometimes you think, put them in a mesh tray so they drain, then it turns hot and windy and you could have used a solid tray for them to soak.

Wish I was closer, I would come to the plant sale. But really, I have more plants than I know what to do with now. Hilarious!

GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR SALE!
