As a civilized society, there are just some things we need to discuss, calmly and in good faith. We can tackle some of the most pressing issues and leave a better place than we found. It's not necessary to let such important matters go unresolved. We can make a difference. We just need to ask ourselves some meaningful questions. If we can just come together on these things, there will be peace on earth.

Depends on your toilet paper holder. I've had a couple where if you had it feeding from over the top, it would either rip off every square or leave a pile of loose paper because it was stubborn to rip off. Those 2 I had to have it feed from the bottom. Otherwise whatever you prefer.

It works as a barrier to keep the edible slices fresher. Especially when you're married to someone who doesn't understand the concept of sealing up the plastic bag well to keep air out...

Over top so the flap is in easy grabbing range. I guess I always do a 2 handed grab to limit consumption to a carwful alloent of squares....

It is a lid, and you hope your housemate will eat the heels at the end of the loaf and not waste them. I am not a heel fan.

Gas stove or electric???
I choose gas...when you turn it off it's OFF not cooling down till it's off and when I loose power I can still light the burners with a match and still cook...just no oven or broiler, but that's ok because I can still cook and have coffee

I don't have gas unless we install a propane system. I'm used to electric..

I'm in the boonies so gas for me is propane. Growing up my mom had a roper gas stove...nat gas so what I was used to. Got married the first time in 1967 and had an elec stove. I remember turning the burner off and setting a plate on the burner...still hot and NOT what I was used to. Well there was enough heat before it totally cooled down that the glaze on the plate popped and went into my eye😯😯 that was it for me...gas ever since.

TP over the top...we called it the butt of the bread and it's used as a lid...mayo all the way! Cooking with gas, baking with electric

TP, any way the user wants: the roll is standing, unheld, on a little cabinet. We just don't have a wall handy!
Bread end slices, two in, go straight into the oven to dry for breadcrumbs; slices go four by four, into recycled zipper-bags and the freezer. We rarely use more than two slices a day.
Mayo in generic 3L jar $9 (more now, I'm sure) from the wholesaler, decanted into smaller jars on top of the crisper in the bottom of the fridge. Used in sandwiches, salad dressings and dips for up to 8 months.
Gas stove. No choice; hydro price out here is prohibitive, the solar array can't support a stove, furnace or clothes-dryer. Propane is getting pretty dam expensive, as well, but I use it as wisely as possible.
