I was lucky enough to go to down to FL for Mecca a few years ago and one place I spent quite a bit of time at was Dan Hansen's garden and since Dan was growing many of Ned's daylilies I was fortunate to see quite a collection of them. I happen to love UF cascades and I think that Ned has some beauties. Two that impressed me that I saw growing down in FL standing up to the pouring rain we had that year were NED'S ELENA and BROTHER CAL. I was sooooo happy to have them come home with me. They have been growing in my gardens in NH with no mulch.

What a lovely photo! I wish I knew where there were more of Ned's growing around me, so I could see them in person!

Coral Eyeshadow has beautiful color. Ned's Elana is very feminine, soft pink with curls. I can see why you had to bring it home!

Coral Eye Shadow is beautiful. I tried that one and Desert Icicle and neither one would grow here. Tried Desert Icicle twice and then gave up.

AHS Awards update for 2013...

Ned's 'Licorice Twist' (2005) was a runner up for a 2013 Award of Merit


2013 AHS Honorable Mention winners were....

'Legs Limmer' (2005)


and 'Kathy Macartney' (2005)


and 'Iktomi' registered in 1998 received a 2nd runner up for the 2013 Eugene S. Foster Award for daylilies which are registered as late and begin to bloom in the late season.

I have Kathy Macartney, if it survived the winter (and if the plant label survived the winter so I can find it again)
