Just got an email from Dan - he has all my DLs in stock, and they will ship TOMORROW. **vainly searches for "eek" emoticon** Hilarious! Guess I'd better get my soaking bucket ready, and make sure I have enough pots, cause I surely dont have any beds for them to move to yet. (oops)

I was surprised when I searched the db for Ned Roberts to see how many I already have (or have coming from Robin).

I agree The image of Brer Rabbits Baby is stunning. Love the color of Nathan Sommers. Forgot I had grown Winds of Love, pretty bloom but was always down in the foliage. Not sure if it was a climate issue or if that was just the way it grew. Never heard of Tri Sigma Love, sure is pretty. Thought of another one while cleaning daylily beds today, Vi Dawson, pretty lavender with funny kinky ruffled edge, great plant. I've always wanted to try his Purple Grasshopper, does anyone have that one?

Char, I just bought Purple Grasshopper from the sale Doris told us about. A clump (at least 3 fans ) for $10 -- couldn't walk away from that, could I? Whistling

Lucky you Mary! I'm just starting to get the beds cleaned and need to see how many "empty" spots I have before I order anything for the display garden. Dan always sends wonderful plants, I'm sure you'll be very happy with your order. I feel like a bozo, found 3 more in my plant list, Lobo Lucy, Hubbles Buddy and Chief Four Fingers. Now I'm sitting here wondering how I have so many of Ned's when, I am not that fond of UF's/Spiders sorry, I just have very specific taste when it comes to them and there are only about 50 diploids here total.....must be his hit that appeal to me button. Smiling Anyhow, here is an image of Lobo Lucy.

Here are a few more of Ned's daylilies.
Black Arrowhead sometimes reblooms here:

Chokecherry Mountain:

Legs Limmer. The year before Ned introduced this, he gave a talk at Lilyhemmer and when he showed this one, Paul Limmer walked up and down the aisle in his shorts. You had to be there!

Navajo Rodeo:

Allison Sommers:

Mount Echo Sunrise, forgot how much I love this one:

Thanks Mike, Lobo Lucy is cute and the color is a nice clear red.

Allison Sommers, now that is one wild looking bloom! It looks like it is huge too, I definately need to add that one to the list.

I think I only grow two of Ned's flowers. Desert Icicle 1995 and Skinwalker 1997. Both are great garden and show flowers in Region 14, almost every show in our region will have these two flowers entered and a lot of times one of them will end up on the head table.

Coyote Laughs. I love the names Ned picked from his time working in Albequerque. His office adjoined that of Tony Hillerman, I believe Betty told me. ( Tony wrote mysteries, some set on the Indian reservations, I remember one book he mentioned'Skinwalker.

Pueblo Dancer is one that people rarely see blooming, as it is a ML bloomer. Ned mentioned before he passed that this wasn't well distributed. Hopefully now it is better distributed.

Julie - The color on NATHAN SUMMERS always grabs me. It makes me wish I had more planting room.

Ann - Orchid Moonrise is my favorite of Ned's daylilies, too! The jeweltone colors are just fabulous. I only wish that one had more buds.

My other favorite is Kokopelli. It simply has wonderful form! This photo shows it faded after a 100 degree day.

I have really enjoyed seeing all of the photos of Ned's intros. I've always loved Spidery types and I have added a lot to my "want" list! Like many others, though, I don't have room Crying

Debra, I'm pretty sure it was a photo of yours that put ORCHID MOONRISE on my 'must have' list. Got it from Dan Hansen shortly after that. I don't notice low bud counts because I get so few high bud counts. Too much shade, too little moisture. My ORCHID MOONRISE is growing under a cedar (juniper) and close to a river birch. Still blooms reasonably well and I've used it quite a lot in my hybridizing. I've now got some seedlings planted at a friend's place where they can get full sun and no root competition to see what increase and bud count are under somewhat better conditions.
