My Vanda tesselata is in bloom and it smells wonderful in sunshine. ( not right now, as the fog starts drizzling down)

Ursula, I love that Vanda tesselata. What great color.

Thanks, Ted.

I got the pics from the orchid club meeting just now. It seems I had an audiance watching me trying to cram it back into the truck. I did lose a few flowers but did not break a spike.

That is some job getting that monster back into the car!!

Yeah, Bree, we want to see slippers!! Smiling

I am almost done moving all my Orchids into the cage, just a couple more trips down the steps. I love the way the cage looks.
And I moved out the Paradise Fish into their Summer home outside this afternoon. The hardy waterlilies are now leaved out and I see buds on one of them. I could see the fish taking up residence under the leaves. And the repotted Lotus shows promise by popping up a couple of leaves too.

When I bought that plant 7 years ago, I put it in one of those square wooden baskets with a little tree fern. In short order, it started to produce small roots from the base of the plant that grew upward. After the first year, the basket was consumed and I haven't seen it since. Now all that is left is the hanger wires that come out of this massive ball of roots.

Some orchids just develop a life of their own! Do you hang it outside the OC in summer, Jim? First pic looks like it's out in the yard.

Struggling to get some pictures of my little Enc. tampensis, since the flowers are so small, and the spikes go in all different directions (naturally).

Elaine, I'm delighted the tampensisis blooming for you and the fragrance must make your day.

The Grammatophylum scriptum photos on the above post were taken before the OC was built. I chose them because they nicely showed the root development. The roots do that naturally in order to catch forest nutrients from the tree canopy in their native habitat. It is a wonderful orchid if you have the space. It now hangs in the OC and is only moved for show purposes.

Wow Jim, those photos really show how impressive your plant is. I love the middle photo of the roots!

Neil, what great photos, are you going to write an article on the show? I've always wanted to go...

Dear Susan, no I am not writing an Article on the Chelsea Flower Show as they allowed Gnomes this year! You cannot have Gnomes in any garden, let alone show gardens.
Sorry I am Gnomeaphobic!
Regards from England!
