Fabulous little pouchy Cyps, there Neil. I love the strawberries growing in the boots, too. Totally with you on the gnomes.

New for me today, Lc. Star Parade 'Volcano Queen' just opening the first two of five buds. Update on B. nodosa 'Big Jim' with 3 out of 4 open. The largest flower is nearly 7in. across.

Gnomes? That is just too funny.

Very pretty Elaine, I like them both.

I love all Orchids as in the UK we have 50 wild terrestrial ones.
This is of course the rarest. Only one lefy in the UK and highly protected, please don't let this happen to yours!

Big Jim is just terrific but hard to find and very expensive. If you ever decide to divide yours, Elaine, please put me down as first in line. Green Grin!

Neil, very nice posts. Thanks for allowing us to see them.

Wow, 50 native species of orchids, Neil? I come from British Columbia, I wonder how many there are up there. I know lots of people grow Cyps in their gardens there.

You've got the top spot on the divvy list, Jim. As soon as Big Jim devours his new basket, I'll take an axe to him . . . btw, my kids bought mine from a grower in Myakka and I'm pretty sure they got him for $35.

I met a vendor at the TBOS show last year who had one and he wanted $130 for it. His was the only one at the show and the only one I have been able to find. I don't remember if he was from Myakka or not.

I think that's my favorite plant! For some reason my flowers are only about an inch wide. I saw one at a nursery that had flowers double the size, awesome!!

I like Nelly too.

It is time to move on to our June thread. Susan, you can repost these nice pics there if you want. They are very good and folks should see them.

Please join me at The thread "Our Orchid Blooms in June, 2013" in Orchids forum
