As of today 271 new daylilies with 2023 registrations have been posted on the AHS database. For sure, not all have been updated to hybridizer catalogs but I have reserved [confirmed] a few of Mark Carpenter's anyway Whistling for Spring delivery
Lily Farm Pinky Tuscadero, Lily Farm Molotov Cocktail & Our Friend Greg Williams. The last two posted on were posted on Facebook as seedlings last spring.
Also on confirmed reserve are The Fantastic Barbara Watts and a couple of Brown's Ferry origin: The Night King and When Hearts Kaleidoscope.

Ima Pansy Face, driving me nuts. Can't find it. I thought I could get it from Northern Lights but when NL updated its site, it wasn't on there. Sad A side story, my mom, when I mentioned growing daylilies from seed made a face of horror (ok, horror a bit exaggerated) and reminded me of years ago how we couldn't get rid of "those orange daylilies" i.e. ditch lillies out of a small 3ft by 5 ft garden. Year, after year, after year. So her response to me growing daylilies from seed was "why would you want to do that". Anyway, I was showing her pictures the other day of daylilies I have and that I liked she stopped me at Ima Pansy Face, with "ooh, I really like that one" and then at the daylily Feelin Froggy, "I like that one too". Both of which I have had no luck finding but would love to surprise her and plant these two daylilies in her garden. (I'm my parent's "gardener" Smiling ) I'm also looking for Crintonic Painted Desert, which my mother had no comment on but I really like it. Any help locating these daylilies, especially the first two, will be so appreciated.

K,
The Pansy one looks like HTYBR: Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Here's to You Bill Robinson')
If you needed a back-up.
And the froggy one just seems to be a flat yellow/green, of which there must be hundreds of other versions, too. e.g. Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Limonero Squeeze')

*Limonero Squeeze is currently $5 bid for 2F on the LA $7 and under section.

As long as you know the style she likes, you may be able to pick up lookie-likies from somewhere. Doesn't have to be the exact same one.

Check with this site, garden tracker for hybridizers https://donatodaylilies.garden... They might be able to provide some sources if you contact them.

Thank you so much everyone. Nan, I should have specified I was showing my mom photos, I dont own either daylily. I've been trying to look for lookalikes, but no luck yet. From the two she picked out, both seem to have a similar shape almost like a clover or I think like a shamrock. Her favorite color is purple, but she didn't comment on other purple daylilies (or daylilies with purple in it) , except Ima Pansy Face. Same with the yellows, only commented on Feelin Froggy. So similar shape and color is all I can go by. Difficult to do a search in this database when I dont know how the shape would be described except as to Feelin Froggy, flat, as Orion pointed out. I even started looking at Substantial Evidence kids as that seemed to have the shape but didnt find what I was looking for that way yet. I had been looking for these two daylilies for a while now for myself but last week when my mom said she really liked those two, I have been really trying to find them. I even registered with the lilly auction the other day, definately dangerous for me. I will definately check out Limonero Squeeze and Lime Tree Delight. Orion, I didn't think of Here's to You Bill Robinson, that's a good one. I'll take another look at it but will likely show my mom a pic of it first, as it's a bit pricey. (She doesnt know I'm looking for something for her but can easily show her a few photos next time I see her). And thank you Donna, I will check out that link too. I truly appreciate everyone"s help. As I said in my earlier post, I'm my parent's gardener, so to speak. And although I know they like what I have planted over the years, it would be really nice to plant something my mom picked out, (name of daylilly doesnt matter, just the look of it) especially since it's a daylily. She has divisions of Purple D'Oro and Happy Returns from me but she still thinks of daylilies as the orange ditch lilies that took years to get rid of over 20 years ago at a prior residence. Thanks again.

Thanks for the acorn.
Thumbs up
Yeah, that Bill Robinson one is not so cheap. But it is actually coming down every year a little bit (I keep track). So there is hope.

I was also thinking of the Pinewood ones like Pinewood Lilypad and all the spinoffs (Pinewood Green Flash etc), for the green one. They have the shape, but also have red edges.
They have this one that I had never heard of, sans red:
https://www.pinewooddaylilies....
But not super-cheap.
you should click around their offerings (2023 also out now). They definitely seem to have shapes you may like.

Im a huge fan of Phil and Luella Korth's daylilies. I only discovered them a few years ago after hearing Phil speak ( somewhere - maybe at a Region 2 meeting) and only grow about a half dozen of them. But all that grow here are very fine garden plants here in my SW VA garden , on the edge of zones 6/7. Have ordered more for next spring.

Orion, I went and looked at the Pinewood website and I actually had it bookmarked. Thumbs up Lambeau Leap (LL) sounds like a good lookalike. Description is bright lemon yellow with large green throat and the form looks right. Julie, the pic of LL looks like it has more of a golden tone. In person, does it have a golden tone or is it bright lemon yellow? I agree with Nan, those are beautiful. Thank you Julie for posting them.

I think what I'm going to do is put together a list and gather images of any lemon lime/ lemon yellow daylilies with large green throats, daylilies with large green throats of different forms including some with purple (her favorite color) , and daylilies that have the form she seems to like and ask her to help me pick a few for my garden. Also add in Here's to You Bill Robinson, and anything else I can find somewhat similar to Ima Pansy Face in color or form. Lime Tree Delight, is a good lemon lime color that I will show her. Kononia, Green Ghost and Pinewood Green Flash will be good examples to show her different forms and bloom sizes with green throats. Hopefully I'll be able to find some others that she says, "Oooh I like that one" to and find out if she tends to pick only certain forms/ colors. Thank you again for all your help and if you can think of or come across any others, please post, it's truly appreciated.

@Passionate4gardening :

Lambeau Leap is definitely more of a lemon yellow. You'll maybe notice that I try to get pics very early AM. That does change the color slightly. Here are a couple of other pics of Lambeau Leap.

Wow Julie, thank you. Your pics are so helpful and gorgeous. And definately post more if you can. As between Lambeau Leap and Lime Tree Delight, which one would you say does the green stand out more. Also, between the two, which would you say is a more easy care plant. My Mom isnt able to tend to the plants. I'm planning on getting a few large planters to put along her back wall that she will be able to see from her window. It's in full sun and if I had to guess, maybe 30 - 50 feet away, direct view from her windows. It's a small backyard. In finding a lookalike to Feelin Froggy, I would like her to be able to see that it's not just a yellow daylily, ( "not just" sounds harsh, not meant to be). And I know she likes bright lemon/ lemon lime color and she pointed out the green in Feelin Froggy. All recommendations are truly appreciated as well as the information provided.

@passionate4gardening, given your climate in Massachusetts, I'd recommend Lambeau Leap over Lime Tree Delight without a doubt. The former originated in WI, and the latter originated in GA. I'm not sure how hardy LTD would be for you. As mentioned earlier, I highly recommend Korth daylilies. They would all be hardy there, and his diploid lines have so much green. I'm particularly fond of Pinewood Green Flash, It's incredibly green, especially in the morning.

K, you might try looking for Google-eyed as a sub for Ima Pansy Face.
Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Google-eyed')
Rich Howard has it listed at $50 Display Only, but that could be this years listing. He may have it available for 2023. Doesn't hurt to ask.
