I see a prediction for 20° here (@ N FL border, north of Destin) next Friday night, after a high that day @ 34°. That will be the coldest day in years!

Yeah, watching it, they said that about this weekend at first a week out and now they warmed it up ten degrees. For me it's kind of bad, because my 37ft Florida room is where we eat dinner since it's the only place to seat over ten people, but it is also my greenhouse, hopefully a lizard or frog doesn't jump on the table... .

I saw that three days of 30, 31, and 24 overnight in a row. I will be putting some in the hangar. Some in our downstairs bathroom. I will be putting to test my seven cal king comforters. This is really like a giant nuke on my garden. I am really not interested in staring at a brown waste land where my garden is until spring. There goes my entertainment.

Eric, ugh. They've already warmed our lowest temp of a couple degrees, 35F instead of freezing, so fingers crossed they keep doing that.

We're predicted to have lows in the 50's and 60's into next week but our low for next Friday night is expected to be 38º. Brr! I guess I will have to be moving a few plants to a more protected area.

Sorry, my cutoff for sympathy is 37. Maybe you can get me with a wind chill. : )

Well now they show 32F on Christmas Eve Eve, and 38 Christmas Eve. Not going in the direction I want. I do kinda like it being cold on Christmas though, we can have a fire in the fire pit.

Lin, I remember when my MIL was alive she loved a fire in the fireplace on Christmas day, she lived here in Central FL. One year she turned the AC super cold and made my hubs build a fire, she was so tired of hot Christmases. Memories
We have an electric fireplace inside, so can leave the heat off, the Florida room has a propane fire pit, looks like a table in the summer. We have an outdoor fire pit too, use that the most.

It is raining now, still warm but temps will go down to 40s early morning. Unfortunately I will not be able to cover any plants outside the tent tonight.

Oh well.. stay warm everyone! Harvested some lemons before the hard freeze at my FIL's place.

It's currently 70º here but it will be a different story for the upcoming Christmas weekend! We're predicted to have a low of 32º tomorrow night and low of 31º Saturday night! I'm sure I will have a fire burning on Christmas eve and possibly Christmas day because our high on the 25th is only supposed to be around 50º! Brr! Thankfully it will be a short cold snap for us and will warm back up to the 70's during the day and 60's at night by the following weekend! I heard that some counties north of us are going to have lows in the 20's!

I bought more blankets for my plants in the tent. It is predicted to be the coldest in Tampa Bay Area since 1989! I have the camping tent lined with cardboard boxes loaded with desert roses, cacti, succulents and plumeria cuttings. Then I will cover them with more cardboard tomorrow and more lightweight camping blankets. Then pray for the best!

Will the Iguana's start to fall? Maybe an Iguana Christmas!

Someone saw us with 4 of these and said, looks like someone is camping. I said, yes my plants will be camping.

Good time to put camping blankets on sale.

We use some old pop up tent canopies to cover larger areas, frost cloth for smaller plants. I open my large patio umbrellas over some taller hummingbird bushes, the stands are heavy iron, so wind doesn't blow them over, you'd be surprised how well they protect, especially if frost in the morn.

I have come across some paralyzed lizards when we into the 30's here, most go hide somewhere, sometimes in a plant that comes inside and they stay there until the plant goes back outside.

They're predicting about three hours at or below freezing tomorrow morn, and about seven on Christmas morn, only up to 48F on Christmas, Up to 67 today, probably be wearing shorts while covering up plants
This will be our coldest Christmas since 1983, but next weekend back into the 80's...that's Florida for ya.

I did several loads of laundry yesterday. It felt weird to be folding clean shorts and tanks that I just wore last week - while moving plants a 2nd time because the first place won't be warm enough for the unusual cold spell, and breaking out the all weather extension cord to run to my little GH/shed for the first time in a couple years.
