That is a good thing for on a large acreage garden. On a city lot I could not turn it around? My wagon and new rollator for walking and sitting are my garden aids.

This 1994 Cushman Truckster is the best pice of equipment I have ever owned. Full hydraulics, front and rear power take offs, full lights and instrumentation, 4 foot by 4 foot power dump bed, three cylinder 36 horsepower Kubota gas engine, AC/DC converter, three speed gearbox with high and low gear ratios...and it hauls grandkids around in the annual 4th of July parades.

I still have my indoor seed starting thing-amajig, if, IF I bring it back from the dead, not been used for twenty years, what is a good date to fire it up (just water and a place to put it)?

Here putting tomatoes out earlier thatn May 20 , plus or minus is a waste of time, as volunteers pop up around mid-June and still produce before frost returns.

RpR, are you asking when you should start tomato seeds indoors? Six weeks seems to be pretty ideal in my experience, I start them around April 15th to be ready to plant outside on June 1st.

Chuckl, just grew up around equipment, boys toys and I started as soon as I could straddle the console on a little ford tractor, I loved the running, but guys, I really enjoy being warm now. I do miss my front end loader on that Minneapolis Moline tractor...ah well.
I told Miss Rita way back when that one of these days I would just get so slow I would turn into a concrete garden statue. I got quite a chuckle when she sent me a picture of maybe? a woman scarecrow in a garden. Yup, thats me. My seeds are on back order, grrr. Well, here's hoping they make it before summer hits.

Hi!
TheBentHouse2 said: So this is a great place to ask for advice. I am wanting the best tasting slicer tomatoes for sandwiches. What are yalls favorite one to make a sandwich out of?

Royal Hillbilly, Aunt Ruby's German Green, Curtis Cheek, Carbon.

I prefer sweeter, lower acid tomatoes. Of the tomatoes listed, Carbon has a deeper tomato flavor, balanced between sweet and acid.

"Best tasting" is so subjective... for me, if a tomato is described as "low acid" or "sweet" it just doesn't have a lot of flavor.

Same here. I don't like sweet tomatoes like yellows because they're too blah for me. May as well buy a storebought fruit. I want my tomatoes to have a strong zip to them.
