Hi y'all, I'm road-tripping from NoVA to Disneyworld down I- 95 in beginning of April. I'm looking for recommendations for Garden/plant-centric stops. Specialty nurseries, private gardens that may offer scheduled visits, public gardens, etc.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a place I should check out? Thanks!

Leu Gardens in Orlando is very nice. https://www.leugardens.org/

Meade botanical gardens is free. https://www.meadgarden.org/

This nursery is in Oviedo about a 45 minutes drive or more from Disney. I don't know about the Disney area plant nurseries, I tend to stay away from that area.

The thread "List of Florida Arboretums and Botanical Gardens" in Florida Gardening forum

If you take the by-pass around Jacksonville to the west there is a good nursery at exit 23, New Kings Road. The place is called Gore's Nursery and it is only a few thousand feet (to the west) off 95. Good selection and prices.

EFG Orchids, they carry other plants also, is right off I-4 between 95 and Orlando.

Apopka is home to countless growers and many are open to the public.

You will be driving through NC, don't miss the Plant Delights nursery and their Juniper Level Botanical gardens. A commercial nursery nearby is called Big Bloomers and it it worth a side trip for the variety and prices. The place is HUGE. Many, many greenhouses.

Also right off 95 is the Costal Georgia Botanical Gardens just south of Savannah.

Although about an hour from 95, there are gardens large and small in Charleston, SC and April is an awesome time to visit. Walking the historic district and visiting the private gardens is amazing.
Minds are like parachutes; they work better when they are open.

I like Gabriella Plants 5420 Deep Lake Road #1064 in Oviedo, Fl. They do have nursery tours and special events, but you'll have to check their website for dates and times of those if your interested. I took a cork mounting class that was fun. The shop is small, but has some amazing plants that can fit in your car.
If you love orchids Krull-Smith in Apopka has beautiful award-winning orchids and have shows and events at different times during the year.
Florida has a lot of growers and beautiful plants, so if you visit too many you may need a U-Haul to bring them home Rolling on the floor laughing

Gabriella Plants is right down the road from me, they used to have big plant sales at the greenhouse many years ago. Now they have a little shop on Aloma close to the 417. The people that work there are so nice, I've only purchased a couple plants from them, luckily I can pick them up, no shipping.

In the same area on 426 in Oviedo is the Do-it-yourself-pest control aka: Oviedo plants, you can follow them in instagram 'oviedoplants' and Facebook to see what they have. New plants every week and some great prices too. Most plants are from local Apopka nurseries. They don't ship, pick up only. Closed Sundays.
