I have purchased & grown some reblooming irises but many have not rebloomed in my zone 6 garden. Does anyone know which of the following TB reblooming rises will likely rebloom in my zone 6: Best Bet, Catina, Concertina, Champagne Elegance, I'm Back, Mother Earth, Sugar Blues & Victoria Falls? Thank you.

I'm in zone 6b in central New Jersey. The only iris on your list that I have is Victoria. Falls. It has never rebloomed for me. The only consistent reblooming iris for me is Immortality. White and short.

I have several daylilys that are listed as Re bloomers that don't really produce a second flush of blooms. I have the feeling that if I were in a warmer zone with a longer growing season they might Rebloom. Perhaps the same is true for Victoria Falls iris. Immortality always blooms again.

I know that the growing zones are the only info we have about our areas, but that only lets us know the regions with the same lowest average temperatures, not the length of our growing season. More important than the coldest temp when dealing with re-bloomers is the length of the growing season, I believe. You can help them have a longer growing season by planting them in a micro climate, like on the South side of a building, or by covering them to protect them from an early frost in the fall. Also there are special needs that help re-bloomers to re-bloom, namely, you don't want them to go into a long summer dormant stage, so to prevent that, they need more water then the typical iris, and it also helps if you fertilize after the spring bloom. Because of these special needs, many people who have re-bloomers tend to plant them in a common area so that they can more easily give them what they need. George Bacon from Breezeway Iris Gardens has had some very significant success with getting re-bloomers to perform in his Zone 5 garden. He also has a large collection of them for sale. Good Luck! I live in zone 7a, within about a city block or two of zone 6b. I have a number of irises reputed to re-bloom, including Champagne Elegance, Daughter of Stars, Coral Chalice, and, formerly, an NOID which I think was Harvest of Memories. The latter is the only one that ever rebloomed for me and I ended up culling it because I didn't like the form, nor the very bright yellow, which I felt did not blend well in my garden. I have a lighter, non-reblooming, yellow which has much better form and blends beautifully with the other colors. Due to health reasons I cannot go out into my garden once the temperature has dropped below 60° so having late rebloomers is a waste here. I'd rather they save their bloom energy for May when I can be out there enjoying them. Having one or two late rebloomers in a garden, which by then otherwise looks totally dead is just weird.

I live in 6B, .been growing iris since the late 80's and to my knowledge have never had rebloomer's bloom again.I have over 500 TB's.
I agree that it wouldn't be very pretty to have a few blooming amongst the multitude of others that are not.
If you had a bed with mostly rebloomers that consistently rebloomed ,that would be nice. However, even rebloomers aren't consistent in blooming.
When I first started growing iris,I was very interested in ordering rebloomers, but with no success, I quickly lost interest.

I started with one pot of immortality in 2020 fall and it has consistently rebloom for me from May to November. I think it like my garden, lots of sunshine and lots of rainfall. I also has harvest of memories that boom the first season I planted and rebloom in the first season. But Harvest of Memories does not have good substance, form is not good. I would recommend Again and Again, which not only rebloom in my local public garden also has better form.

For me the consistent rebloomers are Harvest Of Memories, Immortality, Eternal Bliss, Autumn Orangelite, Baby blessed, Dashing, Brother carl, and Daughter of Stars. Iceland used to rebloom every year too, but stopped when I divided and moved it. Belvi Queen, roney's Encore, Tea Leaves, Redelta, Mariposa Autumn, and a few others rebloom often enough that I am happy with them, probably a couple others I can't think of off the top of my head. I have, or have had in the past for long enough they should have rebloomed, Best Bet, Concertina, Champagne Elegance, Sugar Blues & Victoria Falls. Champagne Elegance has rebloomed twice in around 20 years I have had it, never seen the others rebloom at all.

It's a pity that the rebloomers aren't consistent. A HUGE THANKS to everyone responding to this thread - it's great information to know. Thumbs up

I think the inconsistent weather patterns MAY have an effect on reblooming. I even moved some rebloomers to all in one raised bed, and watered them during the summer. So far I haven't noticed any changes. We'll see this year if anything happens. I may even give them some extra fertilizer, low in nitrogen, of course, and see if there is a difference. They are growing...just not reblooming.

I have quite a few rebloomers but the ones that consistently rebloom for me are Rosalie Figge and His Royal Highness. They rebloom prolifically every year in my 6B zone in Kentucky.
I have sporadic rebloom on Harvest of Memories, Dark Crystal, Faithful and True, See My Etchings, Raspberry Silk and 9/11 Remembered.

My dad lives up there, in 6A.
His rebloomer was a rescue, but we think it's Bold Statement.

So I am in Zone 8 and though I have a long growing season, the June heat sends most my Irises into partial and sometimes full dormancy, so because of that I don't really think it is very long. I have had multiple reblooms in one year on Clarence, Autumn Circus and Lichen. Lichen has bloomed for me in the dead of winter. It even has had a December seedpod that had to have crossed with itself because there was no other Iris in bloom(lol). Sadly the seed pod froze and did not produce mature seeds. I am starting to try to cross Lichen because of that rebloom quality. Also Desert Legacy has rebloomed for me.
